I used 16 of these rivnuts on my travel trailer tank straps(4) straps , 4 bolts each. The original fasteners were self tapping threading bolts and some were alreay stripped when I removed my straps to get them reinforced. SO when I tried to bolt them back on, I had no threads in some of the aluminum frame (!) rendering the self tappers useless in 5 locations. ugh.. I drilled out each hole and installed these rivnuts using a large plier style rivnut compression tool. I also had to use a long bolt and nuts in a few locations as well, because of clearance issues but got all the rivnuts installed. I put the straps back in using actual stainless steel bolts . SOLID repair and I can remove my straps in the future and put the tank in and out if I need to without worrying about threads stripping anymore.

I have used many rivnuts in the past. Sometimes they will not seat fully when installing by hand. These were perfect. Very easy installing and are doing great.

Replacing parts on a 1997 Miata and have several bolt holes that are rusted out, need tapped out and replaced with these. Not sure I'll ever use all of them, but affordable and I'll have them if I need them.
