Your cart is empty.This is a Mach One Hook Maple 16"-16.5" Viola Shoulder Rest, even more ergonomic than the original Mach One. The Mach One Hook hugs the shoulder even more. The idea is to continue hugging the shoulder as far as possible, creating a slight "hook" on the shoulder side of the Rest. Peter Mach's idea was to create the slimmest Rest ever. This elegant Shoulder Rest is only 5.5 mm thick! The thick unsightly foam pads have been eliminated and replaced with the best quality nubuck leather pads. This new rest fits so well, and since it does not slide off the shoulder, it almost eliminates the need for the leather pad. These Rests are individually hand made out of single piece of maple. This model fits 16"-16.5" Violas with lower bout of 230mm to 262mm in width (9" to 10 1/4").

Exactly what I wanted. Contours exactly to my shoulder. Great buy for the money! I'll never buy a bon musica again.

The shoulder rest is stable, but the padding is to thin and smooth so it slips on my shirt.

I love the Mach One rests, but I found the viola rest too big for my instrument even on the smallest adjustment. but I love the feel of it (my viola is so small that I order the full size violin shoulder-rest from Mach One, and I love it.) It is tall enough for my neck, and very comfortably shaped.
