BMW doesn't make it easy to remove a strut. Normally you'd remove the strut, then use these to compress the spring. In my case, ground some flats at the bolt end so that I could get a wrench in there and use the compressors while the strut was still in the car. This allowed me to get the strut out without disconnecting the knuckle from the ball joint.I would suggest that the manufacturer add some flats.

Use only for cars and motorcycles. Do not use for pickup trucks or anything bigger. They bend easily under pressure. Avoid at all costs
