Your cart is empty.The Makita 18V LXT® Brushless Cordless 1/4 Sheet Finishing Sander (XOB02) offers all the power and control of a corded version but without the cord. It offers fine finish sanding for a variety of applications. There are two speed settings at 11,000, and 14,000 Orbits Per Minute (OPM) that can be selected through a convenient one-touch speed control. The XOB02Z uses 4-1/2" X 4" abrasive paper.
The battery and motor locations are engineered to reduce flutter for a more evenly finished surface. It features an efficient through-the-pad dust collection system with a built-in dust port making it easy to connect to a Makita vacuum system for a cleaner work environment.
Convenience features include an ergonomically designed rubberized grip for increased comfort and control, as well as a large clamping lever for quick and easy paper installation.

I own many Makita 18V tool and this sander is a welcome addition to the group. It is a definitely my go-to sander. I have been using a corded Porter Cable finishing sander for many years and this works just as good. The fact that it is cordless is a huge bonus.

Makita is the only asian brand I will buy, and I own nearly every tool they make. My daughter was using my now 20 year old corded version when it finally broke. I bought this cordless one, and its her new favorite tool, lol.

I like the freedom of non-corded tools. I own a lot of different Makita tools and I love the corded version of this finish sander. Sometimes it is very nice to not have the cord and to be able to do a job without having to find an extension cord and an outlet. Since I have plenty of Makita batteries, I thought I would buy this unit in case I wanted to use a finish sander away from electricity without needing a generator. Living in Alaska, it happens a lot, especially when you’re working on cabins in the bush. Another nice Makita tool with the known Makita quality. Just not as powerful as the corded unit.

Lotsa thoughts went into this device and its accessories, mebbe the reasons for the delayed rollout. Ergonomics are good, updates ditto.Even if you've got years on 1 or more of the corded predecessors, I'd still take time to read the book.If you've also got a predecessor with a blow-mold case, then a bit of time, a utility knife, a multitool, some backer rod, a bit of caulk, and some patience could also adapt the case to the slightly different dimensions of the coordless unit.

Great sander cut the full sanding sheet paper use the provided vacuum hole punch and vacuums the dust

Great, well built product. Such a time saver without being restricted with a cord. The dust collecting also works really well.
