Great price for a great product. Does exactly what it's supposed to do and definitely enough to last a long time.

Bought this to make a shirred top and it worked very well on thin linen. There's a lot left over--I'm excited to make more projects with it!I was a little worried about it causing irritation by rubbing up against my skin (sensitive skin), but did not notice any after wearing the top in strong heat for several hours.

There are a lot of listings for shirring elastic, but not all are created equal. Mandala’s 0.6mm elastic thread has outstanding spring to it. It’s lovely to work with. I know hand winding the bobbin is standard for elastic shirring thread but I used my sewing machine bobbin winder. The only change I made was instead of wrapping the thread around the tension head I chose to guide it from the Mandala spool over my finger to sense exactly how much resistance was applied in loading it. I applied a feather light pull and that was absolutely perfect for the soft sheer fabric I was working with. I don’t have photos yet, but I’ll try to update with photos later.Oh, and customer service…. Their customer service is top notch. I had a question and a special request and was thrilled to hear back from them quickly. The team at Mandala obviously cares about selling a quality product and helping customers get what they need.I highly recommend the 0.6mm 546 yard elastic sewing thread for shirring. The thread size is perfect and the length provided will provide ample thread for countless projects. You can’t beat the value for money. If you’re on the fence on which supplier to use I hope this makes it easy for you. My money is on Mandala and I know I’ll be buying more from them after this experience.

Bought to learn shirring on my sewing machine. It works but personally I think it would work better if the diameter was a little smaller. It is very stretchy, I think the value for the price is good. The weight is a little heavy for my personal preference. So far the knot created from my machine have held up.

It is far more elastic than I could ever have a need for, however it does serve the purpose. I used some of this to weave through the backside of a sweater I knitted that was knitted with a silk blend yarn which happens to have 0 elasticity , unlike wool or acrylic. The elastic band around the bottom of the sweater, once worn for a couple of hours is completely stretched out and will not retract. After weaving the elastic "thread" through the back side of the ribbing the problem was solved. And the elastic, if used in enough consecutive rows, (I made 9 rows), retracts perfectly. It does not allow the bottom of the sweater to loose it's intended shape. I highly recommend this if you are knitting on any type of yarn where this ends up being a problem. Use a very large needle with a large eye and simply pull the elastic through the back loops of the knitting, so as not to show through the front of the knitting then tie off the end.

This spool is WAY bigger than I thought it would be. A huge amount of thread, stretchy, super affordable, and looks to be a great quality product!

Just received and have not used as yet so cannot rate this item as yet. But from the inspection, it will work on the item to be used. Thank you.

I bought this to repair holes in my distressed jeans that had ripped too large. I don’t like them gaping, so off to Amazon I went to search out an easy fix. Looks fairly similar to the original distressed threads, so I was happy with my purchase.
