I received this mat today and installed it immediately. My only regret is not buying this mat sooner!! I've wasted so much money on other mats marketed for high pile carpets, only to have my chair’s casters sink into them, causing divots and making it nearly impossible to move my chair. I even tried a bamboo mat that splintered and cracked and didn't last six months. This mat is flexible enough to bend but firm enough that the casters don’t sink at all. I'm a big girl, using a big, heavy chair, and have thick padded carpet. When I tell you there are no more divots...THERE ARE NO DIVOTS WHATSOEVER!! It cost a bit more but is worth every penny. I've spent far more on subpar mats that have all wound up in the trash. This one is well worth the investment. I feel completely confident in saying you won't regret this purchase. Especially if you've had issues with divots in other mats.It does spring open pretty forcefully, as many others have noted, but with the additional warnings, I was mindful of it and had no issues at all. I ordered the 48" x 60" and had no trouble getting it upstairs and opening it by myself.Excellent Product!! Excellent Purchase!!

I bought other chair mats and they were all semi-squishy and got roller marks within a day. This one was actually what I wanted - a super hard, super tough and rugged chair mat that doesn't bend, dent, or get marks on it. If you're like me, you searched amazon all over for the right kind of mat and the reviews that people had, and this is it.They have a tendency to crack after a while if you're using them to protect carpet but that's just the nature of the beast. You can spread a little bit of moisturizing lotion on them every 6 months where the chair rollers press against the mat to keep them. The other thing to keep in mind is that when you cut them from the rolling plastic they will EXPLODE into straight shape extremely fast. I recommend shielding your eyes and maybe even putting your knife on a stick or something to do it from afar.Anyways, exactly what I was looking for, 5/5.

Mat is tough, thick plastic, perfect for protecting high pile carpet while allowing a chair to roll freely. I also like the coarse texture of the map since it keeps my chair from slipping uncontrollably. BIG warning though, mine did not ship flat as advertised and instead shipped rolled up and bound in plastic. As soon as the plastic is removed, the mat springs open with such force that it could easily break a finger or knock someone to the ground. This is potentially so dangerous that I felt it warranted a star off the review even though I have no complaints about the mat. Luckily I had heeded the warnings from the other reviewers in advance and was able to safely open the mat. I feel it is inevitable that somebody will be severely injured by this at some point.

The polycarbonate mat doesn’t dimple when you sit in the chair. You don’t have to push yourself out of the wheel dimples when you want to move. I measured my carpet with a penny for carpet depth. It’s as deep as half of the penny. Which is about 3/8â€. Assuming the thickness of the pad underneath the carpet, I bought the high pile mat. It’s seems perfect for my carpet. I would recommend this chair mat.

Overall the floor mat is good but there are few things to consider before paying over a hundred dollars for it.It moves around a lot because spikes are not long enough. The mat is thin but its hard. You would think this is great but no. Its not rock solid so it will bend under the weight of the chair and when it bends, it will eventually develop small cracks.Because its hard, once cracks start to develop, they will progress very rapidly.Think of if as glass. One small crack, and entire window will crack along the path of the crack, thats basically the problem with hard mat like this. Not as dramatic but you get the idea.I have high pile carpet and i dont think this mat is designed for high pile carpet at all, i think its for low pile business/commercial carpets at best.Because of the hardness of the material, its very slippery. I have old mat i got from office depot 15 years ago and it was never that slippery and it was at least two times thicker. Lasted 15 years and started to crack recently.I dont think this mat will survive this long. With the hardness and thickness in mind, it suggest you to buy TWO of these mats. Glue them together with some kind of epoxy and then it will last you for many years.|You gonna have to use some kind of an angle grinder to remove the dimples from one of the mats to glue on top of another to double the thickness.Or you can wait until crack is developed and then buy a new mat doubling its thickness but by that time it may not be available anymore.Good luck.

I was really looking for something sturdy, and this is it. There are warning labels on the box and inside the packaging warning you to be careful when remove the wrapping, so it will uncoil. Pay attention to those warnings cause it comes open quick.

The fact that this mat ships flat is the main reason I'm giving 5 stars.I have several gripes about it, but after buying and returning several rolled mats, this one is the winner for now.Gripes:Incredibly short spikes, so I don't know how this is considered a high pile carpet mat.Only option with a lip is too small.A little flimsy, but good enough. It took a long time to ship. But worth the wait for a flat (not rolled up) mat.

The product works as advertised for thicker carpets, but it moves a little bit and I have to keep adjusting it back.
