We have used this to tie up the branches from some bushes that we recently trimmed. The reel makes the string really easy to deal with. This is a really handy thing to have on hand.

I build a lot of things, and need string line often. I was not liking having to hand wrap sting line all the time. This device saves you from a bunch of headaches. The one design flaw is the little notch at the top designed for putting the end of the string in to hold it and keep it from unwinding is too big. It doesn't hold the line, which just falls out. Fix this issues and it would be a 4-star item.

Plenty of stout string in this roll. I needed to mark lines to lay out parking lots for an annual event. I used heat shrink for the markings. With the bright orange string and blue heat shrink it really stands out and it’s easy to lay out the parking lot. The cranking mechanism is a little wonky. It’s very loose and sometimes the string gets caught between the handle and the reel. Overall, it fits the bill. Likely would buy again.

I’ll be using this for all kinds of things – first and foremost in my garden. I like that it’s bright so I can see areas that I section off in the vegetable garden. The string is strong, and I like that it’s on a handle that rotates, making it good for a kite too! I’m not sure the end of the string is connected to the reel, so I’ll have to be careful when flying a kite. I don’t know what the little round thing is on top of the handle (I couldn’t find that information), but the groove next to it seems to hold the string well, so it doesn’t knot. What’s also nice is that the string doesn’t unravel when it’s cut. All in all, this is a very useful line and reel.

Ok, actually it does, but finding the end was a bit of a challenge, it was so well wrapped. The cord itself is exactly what you would expect - thin, but strong enough for most usage. The spool is nice, making dispensing or re-rolling the cord easy. Finally, the bright red color is easy to see.Overall, if you need line for marking or tying, this product will get you taken care of, and is well worth considering.

Line seems fairly sturdy and coated to withstand effects of temperature and moisture outside. Bright orange color would make it stand out against natural background, would be a plus with plants & garden. I didn't buy for the advertised masonry/brick laying purpose, was looking for durable string to attach outdoor solar lights to hooks I have affixed above garage and porch doors. Dispenser looks like it will easily allow unrolling desired amount from spool for the tie downs. Can't judge long term durability over seasons yet, but as first take, item seems to have pretty good quality.
