Seems very sturdy (only making it of metal would make it more sturdy), but it wasn't right for the purpose we bought it. If you need to lock up welding gas tanks or something large like that, I would definitely recommend this product. We needed to lock a propane tank on a barbecue grill. For that purpose, the hole was too large and the valve handle slipped out far enough to turn it. With a little modification, we made it work well enough. We didn't see that they sell the same product in a smaller size that is for 1" to 3" valve handles, which would probably have been just right for our grill. (Ooops.) If you need to lock a small tank--order that one.

We use this on our propane tank for our grill...it fits perfectly and serves its purpose to prevent people from using it without our permission ( we have it in a shared court yard)! I recommend this product!

There's no measurements for the opening size so I had to do a little modification for it to fit on a propane tank. After that, it worked fine.

It works and does what it is supposed to but is super loose and wobbly when locked on the valve.

Couldn't find another locking cap that would fit. This definitely conveys the message that you're not wanting this valve, cover, whatever to be touched or used.

This gas lockout device is very good. I was blown away with the quality and design. As it was such a simple design and kept my gas valve super safe. As I was trenching around my house. Would Buy Again.

easy to install, effective piece of security equipment as it protects your gas tap from unwanted attention giving peace of mind for times when you need to leave your trailer / RV unattended. Piece of mind assured, especially for us canadians that visit the USA and are unaware of certain states having slightly stricter laws when it comes to transporting LPG for our camping fun!This item simply clamps around the top of your gas tanks (I've tried it on my 11lb, 20lb and 30lb tanks) align the holes and simply fasten and lock with your padlock or security lock of choice. Tap cannot be accessed while clamped and locked. However most gas hoses can be left attached, BUT for me I felt this is not advisable as hose becomes quite snug and my afford unwanted pressure on it's connection to the tank. Seemingly well made from hard tough plastic, very intuitive to pop on and lock.Overall a decent piece of kit which I wouldn't hesitate in recommending, obviously if someone is desperate to get to your tank then this would just be a deterrent, but IMHO it's deterrent enough.
