This review is only about the Maxcatch "Single Hand Spey Line". It's a genuine bargain at less than a quarter the price of a comparable line from the real leader (sic.) in specialized fly lines. This line tapers quickly to a heavy rocket section of about 30 feet. It's "special purpose", designed to facilitate the Roll Cast and the more challenging Single Hand Spey Cast, and it performs those tasks very well. You can fish all day on rivers and streams with only those casts, which do require a little practice. On the other hand, you won't want to use this line routinely for standard overhand casting. Head is just to heavy to perform well, so you may want to carry an extra spool with a more conventional WF line. Recommended for what it is designed to accomplish.

Was super excited for this line to try spey fishing. After two casts with a wet fly I noticed the first foot of the tip started to sink. We are talking a size 10 tenkara fly, no weight at all. Now today I went out to try and throw a unweighted wooly bugger and almost 5 feet of the tip was under water. This was in a lake, so there was no current to pull it under. For this line to supposed to be floating it did not do a good job. I would spend the extra money and get a better brand line.

This single hand spey line is a bargain It handles a dbl nymph rig with an indicator with ease. I have been using it in near freezing condition without any issues at all

Maxcatch makes good products at affordable prices!!!! I've tried multiple products from them. Only complaint is they don't respond on their main website.
