In 1920, at a time when craftsmanship was a matter of pride, Max Gottlieb Meinel established MAXIMA in Markneukirchen, Germany. In the early 1950s, MAXIMA built a new plant in Geretsried for the production of monofilament nylon fishing line. Using the advanced technology, MAXIMA manufactures the fishing line.

Nothing better than Maxima leader line. Been around for decades because it can’t be beat. Fly fishing leader, icefishing leader, I now even make Maxima leaders on all my bass and crappy rods. Helps keep your line from twisting and just seems to make every fly, lure and live bait fish better. Great stuff, don’t go fishing without it. Period!

I use Maxima 10 and 12 pound a fair amount. It is very strong stuff, but a tad on the thick side. (Then again, that may be why it’s so strong.)

Absolutely love this product! Have used in Alaska on Salmon and Trout and also for Steelhead in NY. No need to spend the extra money on fluorocarbon, this does the trick. Also, the spool is a convenient size to keep in your vest while fishing as well.

I use this primarily for a leader when fishing plastic baits in thicker cover. It tends to hold up well, with less line abrasion than I have seen with other brands. I like the Chameleon line as my spool line and this as a leader.
