We like that the step is ridged and gives you a little more grip/traction in wet weather. It is just big enough for two small feet to stand together on the step, or for one large boot. The reflectors are nice so that the step is noticeable to cars parking behind you, etc. There is a slight wobble as it fits in the holder, so I advise practicing using the step to get used to the little bit of “give.†One might be able to shim it to reduce wobble but we haven’t gone to that next step. Note that it does not come with the pin. We already had an extra pin to attach things into the hitch receptacle so it was not a problem for us. It was about the lowest cost solution for us too.

Bought for my Gen4 Taco. Already save me from a slight rear end at red light. Cracked his grill on his car that hit me. Teenager probably looking at his phone.

I love the MaxxHaul hitch step. It fit fine into my 2 inch hitch receiver (a little wobble but not bad) and I suspect it would be great protection if another car makes contact (at slow speed) with your car's rear bumper (think someone backing out of parking space behind you or pulling too far forward when parallel parking) or if you back up too far into something. If it saves expensive damage to the rear bumper, then it's be worth much more than it's cost, even if it needed to be replaced. I also use it as a step for when I wash my SUV. It's so much more convenient that climbing onto a step stool. BTW, it looks pretty good too and has dual reflectors to make it more visible at night. I don't usually even notice it anymore though, when I back up, it does get captured in my backup camera view so I am aware then that I've extended my bumper out just a little bit. I'm definitely happy with this purchase.

For something we step on, we expect stability. But the dimensions of this square, plastic part that slips into the receiver hitch, are too small to have solid, tight fit, so when you step on it, it moves a little, but it is disconcerting, and not necessary. The part just needs to be slight larger to provide a snug fit. I'll try wrapping electrical tape around it, but it'll probably take a couple rolls. Any other ideas? Sheet metal, wrapped around it, would be an option.

Lightweight but very sturdy with multiple points to put the pin through for mounting.I had the tubular style & it wasn’t very good in the wet conditions due to being really slick, saw this one & thought I’d give it a shot! No disappointment whatsoever! East 5 star rating.

Easy to put on and off.After breaking my ankle stepping out of the van I needed something to make it safer to het in and out to the rear seat due to 2 grandkids occupying the second row of seats with their toddler seats and box of toys in the isle makes it necessary to enter from the rear. This step makes it so much simpler and safer as well as being more than strong enough to support my weight. The all steel construction will last forever and can be used on any vehicle with a 2" receiver hitch...highly recommend this product.

Aditamento muy útil para subir cosas a la canastilla, tengo una Toyota FJ e incluso con la llanta de refacción atrás lo puedo utilizar para subirme a bajar cosas sin tener que abrir la puerta trasera. Incluso lo utilizo cuando cargo la camioneta, ahà pongo algunas cosas pequeñas para acomodarlas. Me gusta que las puntas estás curveadas y aunque es de plástico es un material muy resistente. Muy útil y buen producto.

Slightly tight to insert into tow hitch receiver but strong, all plastic seems to be a good option. Reasonable price.
