About this item

  • ANALOG ELECTRO AND HIP HOP EFFECT: the Meinl Crasher has a frequency that easily differentiates from hihats and snare with a trashy, electronic, metallic tone
  • WHY IT MATTERS: it's a hassle-free way to add completely new sounds to your kit, and open your mind to new patterns and stickings
  • HOW IT WORKS: strike the Crasher with a stick or mallet just like a closed pair of hihats; two steel pieces make contact with each other to respond with a short, crisp burst of sound
  • ZOOM IN: the wavy edge is perfect for creating guiro sound effects; drag a drumstick across to make a rattling sustain or washboard sound
  • OF NOTE: comes with a standard 3/8" eye bolt mount that fits percussion rods or cymbal stands; it's easy to place anywhere in your setup
  • BY THE NUMBERS: measures 10.24" L x 5.5" W (including mount)
  • THE TAKEAWAY: the Meinl Crasher is a versatile add-on with a nice contrast in sound from cymbals and drums; use in a drum kit or percussion setup
  • THE BIG PICTURE: Meinl is a family-owned musical instrument manufacturer and brand established 1951 in Germany; our expert German designers have deep relationships with our builders to ensure you're delivered the absolute finest quality

The Meinl turbo CRASHER will be a must for drummers and percussionists of all genres who want to add a different color to their set up. This percussion accessory can be placed on any rod and will give you a nice short crashing sound.

I love the product, and the price was right. It was missing the piece which attaches to the bolt. Fortunately, I own enough percussion equipment that I was able to mitigate this oversight.

Fun percussion accessory. Similar to Engelhart ribbon crasher, but lighter.Mounted on hihat pull rod, it doesn’t feel too heavy to operate pedal & offers some interesting options somewhere in between crasher & tambourine. Great for electronic type backbeat & the bevel edges offer guiro like sounds as well. Give it a try, I think you’ll like it. A+ Meinl

Nice contrast in sound. I like it a lot. It cuts through better than a hi hat. But the screw down bold comes loose after a while of use to has to keep being re-tightened. .

This is a cool addition to your kit. Make sure you get a nice percussion clamp so you can adjust the positioning of this crasher, as the positioning is important for how you strike it -- you can swipe your stick along the ridges to get a guiro sound. The crasher has helped me open my imagination up to new grooves and stickings.Gotta be mindful that it's not quite as loud as cymbals and drums.

not a very strong sound - Meinl also make a mountable tambourine with triangular brass jingles that has a much more distinctive voice in the same sound family.

i have a cocktail kit with small hi-hats (always closed) and a small splash... this is a really cool addition... the ripples in the metal are cool for some scratch gourd efx it can be used on a foot-pedal as well. but I'm really digging the color it brings to my set-up, used as a back beat or with the snare you get a nice electronic sound... get one!

I wanted a crasher after seeing Thomas Lang's setup. This is it. Loud enough to cut through the drum kit, depending on your placement. Mine is mounted on a Meinl percussion rig.

This thing is a great addition to any drum set. I love the guiro type effect of scraping my stick right to left and when riding this thing it sounds really cool. My drum students love it!

Suena parecido a la cáscara de los timbales, así que está muy bien para ritmos latinos además de dar efecto de un güiro también.

Efecto muy chulo. Quizá algo caro para lo que es, pero al ser Meinl lo pagas.

As described it has a great sound similar to Timbale shell and can be used as a guiro and also has a sound close to clap mixed with a tambourine.. you need to try it

cumple las expectativas, me permite hacer polirritmias y matices en las piezas que toco con mi batería
