Some 15 years ago I fitted my marine environment gates with MM 502 dual heavy duty openers. These lasted for over 10 years. The only recurring problem was replacing the rev counter boards inside the openers as these had a tendency to getting corroded and shorted out after heavy rains. This happened every 5 years or so. See photo on right.The MM502’s died during the pandemic. Mighty mule had came out with the MM562 replacement product. The arms in this installation were very noisy on day one and they lasted less than 3 years (see photo of red circuit board) as the opener housing leaked and flooded inside and the rev counter kept failing. So I replaced it last week with the MM 572 being reviewed here.The primary opener arm of the MM572 failed after half an hour of operation. It somehow unscrewed and detached itself from the driver motor. The techs at the factory in Carlsbad California replaced the opener using a "virtual exchange". The new one was shipped UPS from the warehouse near Memphis and arrived the second business day despite storms and Mardi Grass. Great customer service.The opener now works great and it opens and closes a lot faster than the previous versions. Also the closing position seems to be more precise.Some general observations about this upgrade product as follows:The primary arm is shipped with a cable that is about a foot shorter than previous versions. You may have to move your boxes. See photo 2.The arms no longer have the troublesome rev counters inside. This is good news. However the control cables have eliminated the brown and blue wires. This means your old arms cannot be used with this control board. Antenna wire connections have been eliminated. You now just screw in a little antenna provided to the outside of the control box.In addition to the elimination of the rev counter, the overall design is much better than the legacy version. Apparently Mighty Mule has been acquired by a large Italian conglomerate and they are investing more money in product mechanical design and electronics. Fewer cables means fewer connections.Old remotes have more range. Receiver seems to be more sensitive. Will write a follow up review after the rainy season.

I had the gate installed for less than 6 weeks. The gate is used on my summer home hence, the gate has been used less than 20 times. Most of those times were testing the opening and closing process. The operator stopped working and was making a spinning noise hence I opened the plastic cover to look into the issue. The operator arm uses plastic sprockets in the inside. The teeth on the sprocket broke off. (Mighty Mule does not sell replacement parts and I was told I had to buy a whole new setup.)One would think that the warranty would cover the defective units. Or at least sell the replacement parts. To my horror, I was told my warranty is void since I opened the operator arm. If there was a "warranty void if opened" sticker on the operator arm, I would not have opened it.The gate opener is operating two County Line 8ft Utility Gate. Gates weight 34lbs each and can be moved with my fingers.Now I have to buy another brand unit. The holes are drilled in my gate already so I don't really have a choice in picking another gate opener manufacturer. This product is advertised for DYI installs. Put a "warranty void if opened" sticker on parts you don't want the customer to open instead of finding ways to duck out of provideing replacements for shotty hardware.

This is my second mighty mule opener. The first lasted 13 years. This opener is even better. It's opens and closes faster, uses fewer wires, and the wireless opener transmitter and receiver is better. I also use the Internet accessory which works flawlessly. I love coming up the road and opening the gate a minute from the house and the gate being open when I get home. I think the negative reviews are from people who didn't install it correctly. Follow the directions to the letter and you will have a great opener. I love the app on my phone to open and close the gate! Good job mighty mule!

This is the third unit we bought. Not the strongest units that last forever. Nothing against the seller, just the unit itself. Always buy the extended warranty with this unit.

Our box arrived and due to weather we didn't set it up until after the return window, so we were very sad when we discovered that the installation manual, receiver antenna and one of the two remotes that were supposed to be in the kit were all missing. The manual was available online as a PDF, and technical support from Mighty Mule was fantastic to get us through installation and set up. We are now struggling to find an antenna and would like to replace the missing 3-button remote that was not in the box. The kit itself works awesome, other than the missing parts.

Used this for a dual 8 foot swinging gates, Weighting 100lbs each and gate openers will not function with any slight winds at all. Was very disappointed with this product.Does not work good at all when temperatures are -5c says that will work-15 not a chance if I could return this for a refund but didn’t get them installed until after refund window in time. I definitely do not recommend this product at all.

I've fitted three of these now and am completely satisfied. The oldest has been running without a problem for 6 years now. They are strong and of good quality. Installation instructions are excellent - no Google translate nonsense there! I've worked on other brands and I'm sure this is the best.

Easy to install as a replacement for a 15 year old Mighty Mule unit. Works well. Would prefer if the time to open and close was a bit faster but definitely better than the old unit. Great support every time I've called in.
