The HingeJigPLUS™, by Milescraft, is a one-stop solution for door installation work. The jig routs and installs door and jamb / frame hinges, latches, and strike plate mortises quickly and accurately. The included bonus PinDoctor™ even assists in removing your old door.
The dual-clamping design of the HingeJigPLUS™ mounts quickly and holds firm to ensure cuts are clean and accurate. No need for screws or nails which can damage your door. Rout perfect hinge mortises in 2.5”, 3”, 3.5”, 4” and 4.5” sizing on both a door, or the frame!
For Doors – Set appropriate backset plug setting and insert the adjustable spacer into the correct sizing slot facing the DOOR cavity, clamp, and route. On Frames, the HingeJigPLUS™ is reconfigured to clamp or mount to new or existing jambs and frames using the FRAME cavity. Included offset pins make sure that the spacing stays accurate and the width of the hinge mortise is just right.
Built-in depth setting guides to ensure proper routing depth on smaller or larger hinges. The design of the HingeJigPLUS™ also makes it easy to change between ¼” and 5/8” radius mortises. Flip the radius inserts and spacer to the curved side for 5/8” hinges, or the flat side for ¼” hinges.
The HingeJigPLUS™ includes drop in templates to rout latch plate and strike mortises. Simply remove the adjustable spacer, set the backset plug to latch, and drop in a template The strike template is used when the jig is in the FRAME position, and uses the index pins to set correct distance.

Great product for DIY homeowner. Adjustable to accomodate multiple common hinge sizes. Rubber clamps hold jig tightly in place without having to damage object with nails, although jig does have nail holes to allow for better stability during use. Can be used on jamb uprights only if door stops are not installed or present. Jig also has patterns for a couple of common door striker and latch plate. Excellent hard plastic, not very flexible at all (if you don't really crank down hard on the screw clamps). I also found a way to use this jig to countersunk rectangle for a non-standard sized vintage latch plate, by routing out most of it and then moving the jig to finish the size I need.Very handy jig! It comes with a router bit equipped with a standoff bearing. Be careful lowering or raising the router in and out of the jig while it is running as you can catch the router blade in the plastic walls of the jig and damage them. I searched a while before I decided to purchase a hinge mount jig, and I am very glad I chose this one.

Let me start by saying, if you are doing hinges and or latches on doors, this product was awesome. Easy to set up, adjust and use. I routed 18 door hinges and 6 door latches in less than an hour. Keep in mind I'm not a carpenter just a diy'er/homeowner putting new solid wood doors in the house.

The jig works really well when routing out hinges on a door. I did, however, find that the strike plate attachment kept falling off while routing, and it was difficult to get the jig to line up properly on the strike plate bore hole.

Great value and it worked really well for the 3 doors I needed to do. I wish the whole thing was a little more rigid. If you tighten the clamps too far then the whole thing tips a little on the door and you don't get an even depth. As long as you follow the instructions and don't over tighten it works great. If you have a lot of doors to do I'd get something better quality. But for a DIY person like me this is exactly what I expected and needed.

Relatively easy to use, but it does require some patience to learn how to set up properly, especially when switching from jambs to doors and setting depths accordingly.Routed edge is not precision fit to hinges and plates but rather creates ~ 1/16” over gap. In most situations, this is probably adequate, as the gap will be hidden as a shadow line once the project pieces are stained or painted.

Works great. I used it to rout perfect hinge and latch mortises for 3 doors that I installed. Instructions were clear and easy to understand.

Useless. This jig is not set up to do any of the things it's advertised to do.Your door is already installed? Out of luck, can't clamp it. Need a latch hole behind your strike plate? Out of luck, there's no template for it. Why??Very little value for $40. I'm sure the jig can do some things for someone - but it's a far cry from being the complete solution it's advertised to be. 0 stars.

I used this for a handful of slabs and it is a good stable tool. There is some deflection if you over tighten but it's a quick learning curve to perfect hinge routing

The only issue would be that you have to take it apart to switch from door to frame

Worked well enough for door slabs but I wish it was clear that it wont do door jambs (frames) that are one piece.. only good for flat stock jambs where you're nailing the door stop on after you've done your hinge machining.

This is the only thing from Milescraft I have purchased that is terrible. It has so much flex when using. How did this go into production? The older metal bracket style is vastly superior.

This item is a little bit hard to set and could use some improvement to be able to set it easier and switch it between the jamb and the door
