Your cart is empty. The Milescraft 1342 EuroHingeJig helps create and install perfect 35mm concealed hinges on your cabinet door projects. Perfect repeatable holes every time on both framed and frameless cabinets. The Jig aligns to 6 common cup hole edge distance settings and an edge locator pin quickly sets cup hole vertical position at 3" or 4". The Metal bushing drill guide provides accurate, repeatable drilling that doesn't wear down. Built in depth gauges on the left and right side of the jig allow you to set your hinge hole depth to one of two depths. The marking guide aligns measurements from door to frame. Included in the package are: Allen key, 1/16" drill bit for pilot holes, locator pin, and cabinet locator measuring tool.

All components necessary are included, including instructions. Three of the parts are snapped into clips on the bottom of the jig (the 1/16" drill bit, the edge stop pin, and the marking gauge). The 35 mm forstner bit is of good quality and sharp. It cut the holes in my doors nicely. One thing that is not mentioned in the instructions is that it is probably a good idea to put a light film of grease on the shaft of the forstner drill bit. I suggest grease because you don't want oil running down the shaft and staining your wood. When installing the drill guide for the forstner bit into the base, line the tabs on the side of the guide up with the slots in the base of the jig, and them be sure it is pressed all the way down before trying to rotate it clockwise to lock it into position. I struggled with that for a bit before I realized I didn't have it pushed down quite all the way. When drilling, try to insure that you are applying pressure straight down rather than leaning one way or another. If you're leaning, you will be applying pressure to the drill guide. The bearing surface of the drill guide is steel but it's not very thick. If you are applying side pressure, it might heat up and begin to soften the surrounding plastic which will then deform. The above mentioned lubricant will help prevent this. The jig provides 4 sets of 1/16" guide holes for for pre-drilling the mounting screw holes for the hinge. You may have to mark them by pushing the provided drill bit through each hole to mark the wood surface and then remove the jig and, using a hinge, determine which pair of holes you need to drill for your particular hinge. The jig can then be replaced accurately so you can drill the holes. The instructions show using a clamp to secure the jig to the door during drilling. I strongly suggest that you do that so you can concentrate on keeping your drill straight and not have to worry about holding the jig in position. For my hinges (Blum) the mounting holes were not quite exactly correct. But they were only of by .010" or .020" and they worked just fine anyway. Bottom line is I am very happy with this jig.

I just finished drilling close to 40 holes using this jig. My first time using a Forstner bit--much slower going than a regular wood-boring bit, especially in dense MDF. Just be prepared for that. Get a pair of quick-release clamps for holding it, and use a corded drill because you'll be running it a lot. Put a shop-vac nozzle next to it while running and pull up the bit from time to time to clear the chips. Lube the drill bushing with axle grease. I tossed mine in the freezer every couple of holes to keep the bushing from getting too hot and warping the plastic. Very well made tool, thoughful features, does the job.

Good for the $ - not the sturdiest fixture but it is plastic. Screw holes produce acceptable results - they are not exactly centered but screws go in and center themselves.I only needed to do 4 doors - if I was doing many more I would likely look for a better fixture.Delfinitely gets the job done and would recommend for limited amount of work.

as with all milescraft products the instructions leave a bit to be desired, they're multilingual and it gets confusing on where to go next, with that said watch a you-tube video and it's a lot clearer.now for the actual review this thing is awesome once you get to use it, practice first on scrap!.once you get the hang of it it's terrific, the best part is it's self contained, everything stays on the tool for storage, it has the Allen wrench you need for the collar, it even has a drill bit for the screws all stored on the tool, that's a huge plus, as for set up it's really easy if you use common hinges the settings are there already need a non standard dimension no problem, a pair of clamps (sold separately but i bet you already have something that'll work) and clamp it to the piece! easy peasy!how long will it last/ no idea but i don't buy milescraft for extreme daily use I'm a hobbyist so it'll last me some time, a pro may keep it on hand for an emergency or to teach an intern

Worked great! I can see where a metal version would feel more sturdy. If I did this for a living I would want a better one but this did a whole kitchen without any problems.

I bought this to build custom doors for some IKEA Sektion wall cabinets I used as built ins. Included detailed instructions and worked great. Not sure if the jig will work with non proprietary 35mm Forstner bits but the one provided is of reasonable quality and replacements are available. The metal inserts for drilling the screw holes are a welcome upgrade over competitors. For reference, IKEA Sektion in the USA uses a 1-1/4†hole pattern (not 32mm on center but close). So for a hinge such as UTRUSTA, that is centered around the second set of cabinet holes, the distance from the top and bottom of the door to the center of the hinge cup is 2-1/2†- 1/16â€. I used 62mm with an 6mm inset and it worked perfectly. Pilot hole locations for UTRUSTA are 45 x 9.5.

I found the jig overly complex for it's intended purpose - but after testing it a bit more, it wasn't complex. It was just inaccurate. The depth gauges on mine were identical, and ironically neither were accurate to their stated dimension. The 13mm depth was off by 2mm! I suppose this is an ok jig to keep you square and line up repeatable results, but honestly, do the layout yourself and use a drill press or drill guide of some kind. The plastic shroud that encapsulates the bit flexes way too much. Again, this will work, but for me, it was a waste of money. The most useful/valuable thing was the included red template to mark for the plate on the case.

I only needed to do two hinges so I probably could have done the job without this but, since I rarely do this I needed to do mockups and two hinges turned into 4 and this tool made me feel confident. When I did the final installation it was perfect. Tool is very easy to work with and its use is pretty intuitive. Seems like it is durable and will be a useful tool in the future.

The Milescraft Euro Hinge Jig has been an excellent tool for my cabinet projects. It’s incredibly easy to use, even for someone new to installing concealed hinges. The setup is straightforward, and it creates accurate, clean holes every time, which has made hinge installation much faster and more consistent. One of the best features is how well the jig holds its position, so I get perfectly aligned holes without having to guess. The included depth stop is also a huge plus, helping me avoid over-drilling and making adjustments as needed. To get the most accurate layout clamp the jig to your workpiece. If you're looking for a reliable, affordable tool to streamline cabinet hinge installations, this jig is worth every penny. Highly recommended for both beginners and experienced woodworkers!
