Although these habitats are smaller than what I thought (as I didn't read the dimensions) I have now found they are perfect for raising 1-3 caterpillars in each habitat. They stand up perfectly even with a small bottle with milkweed in it.

My daughter raises monarchs and we frequently have several caterpillars/chrysalises in various stages of development. Having multiple tiny habitats is much better than having a large structure. They're easy to clean. Easy to store when not in use.

I bought these to keep praying mantis' in. Air flow is great, zipper access is a little bit of a hassle, visibility is so-so (you gotta be close to see into it.) When not in use, it will not stay collapsed due to the wire spring in the green strip of material. The bottom is just netting like the sides and top so if you need a stable surface to put decor on, you'll have to cut out a circle of card stock, balsa, or plastic (like from a butter dish lid) to place in the bottom.

My granddaughter loves catching bugs, and these are a good size. The handle is helpful to have.

These are a little difficult to access because they're small circumference compared to the depth. It's ok to keep one caterpillar seperated but I wouldn't put more than one. And it's definitely too small to let a cat pupate in.

Nice little enclosures for my Monarch caterpillars. They've certainly come in handy. Zippers work well and they are made well enough and should last. Glad I bought them!
