The spur drive on the headstock is used in conjunction with a dead center mounted on the tailstock. The chuck shown in the pictures is for use only on the tail stock. The description doesn’t describe this detail.

i finally got around to setting this up -- had to make space and rearrange my life for it, and was so excited. started being disappointed when i opened the shipping box and the packaging was messed up and there was a huge red sticker on the box. then i opened the product box -- easy since half the tape was already gone -- and found the product... with tiny greasy bags that had once held new things. all used, and not in that good, hidden way, but in a very obvious way.i have often purchased used products, but i know that going into the transaction. this felt deceitful.
