Love these! Every bit as effective and much more durable than the much more expensive alternatives! I use them on snares, tom toms, and even stacker cymbals to eliminate ringing overtones. The one-sided adhesive is strong, yet easy to remove, and the the non-sticky top eliminates the annoying transfer to the skin of the competitors. Highly recommended.

They are not double sided, they have one sticky side. That means they actually stick to the drums and do not collect every stray particle in the air. Amazing Value

I'm using these on my kit's toms and as far as controlling overtones, they work just fine. I cannot hear any difference between using two of these and using one of those other blue lunar gels. These are just about half as big as a lunar gel, so using two equals about one of the others. I like their size, as it allows me to place them on different parts of the head so I can avoid hitting them, or having one directly under a mic, or if I need to catch a particularly tricky little bit of resonance. The sticky stuff on the back is more adhesive than a lunar gel, but still peels off cleanly.I see three big advantages to these: one is cost, which is self-evident; second is the fact that they stay clean because the adhesive is not built-in throughout the gel - the top is dry, so they don't collect a lot of stick dust and dirt and eventually turn green; and third, they come in a choice of colors or transparent, so you can match the look of your kit. I have a Pearl kit that is mostly natural wood and black, so going with the clear gels looks better and cleaner than sticking blue rectangles on my heads and cymbals. These are now my go-to for controlling overtones on toms (and if you're crazy, cymbals, too.)

I tried placing these pads on all of my drums to remove overtones, which is what the product description states these do. To me, an overtone is the extra, usually disanant, long ringout you hear on a snare, for example, which isn't dampened. So I started with the snare, and put a couple of pads on it. I placed them right across from each other, about an inch from the rim. I couldn't hear this making any difference. I also tried with some of my toms too. Maybe I just wasn't placing these pads in the correct spots, but I didn't hear the effect I was after. Which would have been a clear, resounding drum with no overtones. I got rid of the overtones, after using like... a lot of pads, but then the drum just sounded muted. So, they do work, but there's probably a lot to be said for placement on the head.
