I work in my car and often have down time between tasks. I was looking for a pad I could use in the car and in other small spaces to practice speed and rudiments. This thing works perfectly! The strap is sturdy and has taken a beating from the sun without failing. The pad isn't too rubbery and the level of rebound is great. It has less rebound than a real drum head which is great for a practice pad. Most have too much rebound. The only thing I would say is I had to use a smaller stick to practice in the car. I usually use a 8a and had to use a shorter 7a to avoid having my hands in a twisted position. Overall this is a great product. If it ever wears out I will definitely buy another. I've been able to increase my practice time and can see and feel the results.

Awesome little portable pad. Great sound, not that loud, and has a high rebound. Similar rebound to the evans real feel pad.

If you don’t make excuses for missing practice, than this knee pad is the tool you want. Basically, practice anywhere at anytime. Quality product, good price. I got two, one for each leg.

Very useful for warming up before a gig or keeping the hands limber when traveling. Simple design, pretty sturdy, lightweight (unlike some others). Fits easily into a bag or case. A little more attention could have been made when gluing the pad onto the base – it's noticeably off-center, but still 100% functional. If it was 1 or 2 inches larger, it would be perfect.

After about 6 years of abusing my Evans real feel practice pad it finally started to come apart, so I decided to give this one a try and I do not regret doing so. It has a much fuller feel to it and in my opinion sounds better when you hit it than the real feel practice pad. The only down side that I can think of is that it is a little louder then the Evans real feel but it's not too much of a difference. I highly recommend.

I wasn't sure I could really use this to practice while watching TV in my recliner but it's actually great for that! While the 4 inch size is a bit small, I can easily hit it 99% of the time, without looking at it/watching TV.The reason I'm only giving it 3 stars is because of the black base immediately developing paint chips! I didn't notice them when I unboxed it so, I used a black permanent marker to color more than half a dozen spots missing paint. It looked fine and for $20 I didn't want to return it. Over the next few days, I meticulously made sure I did not hit any "accidental rimshots.â€To my surprise, many of the paint chips were back! I think these were all the same chips, rather than new ones. But, I'm not 100% sure. I think the vibrations caused the permanent black marker to essentially vanish! I took photos.I considered paint but then decided on a better solution. Tonight, I applied 4 coats of black, Plasti-Dip spray.Hopefully, that will not vibrate away. However, I cannot recommend this pad, even at the low price.
