I purchased this as a replacement for the BLACK+DECKER DCM18 Brew 'n Go Personal Coffeemaker with Travel Mug, which is no longer available. I’m really impressed! It brews a perfect cup of coffee every time, and the price is unbeatable. I removed the filter basket and use a #2 recycled cone filter, which filters the coffee faster than the white ones. One person mentioned that the first cup had a plastic taste, but I fixed this by brewing a mixture of 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/2 cup water, followed by brewing plain water two more times. I'm very satisfied with this coffee maker; it takes up less space than the Black+Decker.This coffee maker is designed for convenience and efficiency, making it ideal for those who enjoy a quick cup of coffee without the hassle of larger machines. This is the best! No capsules to worry about. Use your favorite coffee! Quickly makes a tall travel-mug size. Easy cleanout--tap coffee intocompost. Impressive! Well done! Price is right! Trying to reduce my coffee consumption so I got this to make one large cup at a time instead my old maker that made two cups at a time. It's a good maker and I'm not disappointed.Cons: it isn't as efficient as my old (larger) maker using 3-4T of grounds when the old one made twice the coffee from 4T of grounds, with the lid on the cup while brewing it will overflow the lid because coffee brews faster than it flows through the lid (I brew into the cup without the lid on to fix this), and it does not keep the coffee in the cup warm for long (there's no hot plate.)Pros: makes a great cup of coffee, reusable filter is easy to clean, cup is good, and maker is very small so it doesn't use a lot of counter space.

I bought this as I'm a new nursing student and have never been a coffee drinker. Well, that's all changing with the amount of schoolwork and trouble staying alert in the afternoon in class. I bought this little guy for $20 and figured I'd give it a go. It's small and cute. Fits on my nightstand if I'd like to make coffee as soon as I rise! It brewed well and hot! The cup thus far keeps it pretty warm! The cup is the perfect size. I may even take it to class for others to use for a pick me up. Would make a great gift as well. I got the mint green and it's a good little coffee maker. Maybe add a little more grounds than what it calls for if you like it stronger!

I have only been using this Mixpresso 1-cup coffee maker for three days. It makes a great cup of coffee. I don't use the permanent filter that comes with the machine because I generally try to avoid plastics whenever possible (even though the entire machine is practically a plastic pod). Instead, I use #2 paper filters. And, I got rid of the plastic 14 oz mug that comes with the coffee maker. The machine feels fragile and cheap, but that was only my initial impression. My machine is sturdier than it looks or feels and it does not leak and it does make a fair amount of steam. The machine is easy to clean and it occupies very little space on my kitchen counter. Since I use a 10 oz coffee mug, I use 1 1/2 scoop of coffee grounds to make a bold tasting cup of coffee (I expect that an 8 oz cup might require only one full scoop of grounds). I have no regrets in purchasing this great little coffee maker.

UPDATE: January 2022 ~ l threw it away because it leaked. Coffeepot and coffee mug both leaked after 5 months of use. :(l purchased a Keurig single use coffeepot and it works SO much better.l liked the price and it is easy to use too. Easy to clean, coffee tastes fine. Two things l don’t like about it though. The ‘on button’ is of poor quality. I’m afraid it won’t last very long because the button l use to start it feels like it’s almost broken and I’ve only had it for about 7 weeks.And the second thing is you can’t actually drink from the travel mug because it leaks where you drink from. I do not use the travel mug because the coffee always spills down my chin. After the coffee is made, I pour it into my own travel mug that does not spill down my chin. So, more to wash. 😢Overall, l don’t think l would buy it again because l don’t think it will last very long.But, if they would fix the button and mug problems and would last 3 or 4 years, l WOULD purchase it. I much prefer the taste of a Keurig but l believe they are too pricey. I had 2 Keurigs before and the coffee just tastes better.But ~ l got rid of the larger Keurig because the water stays in the coffeepot and can make a person sick.l liked my single use Keurig coffeepot the best but l moved {divorce} and left it behind with my ex husband. If it wasn’t so pricey l would have purchased the same single cup Keurig.

This coffee maker is not that big so easy to find room to put it on small counters. Makes a perfect cup of coffee, extremely fast and I have noticed any leakage. It is quiet, compact and is durable.
