I got this to replace a standard controller on our oil burner because I wanted something that would adjust the set temperature based on outside air temps. I was tired of over heating the house and burning extra fuel when the furnace was set higher on warmer days, but then waking up to cold mornings on colder days because I had dropped the temperature previously. Now this will automatically adjust the water temp based on thermostat call frequency without paying extra for an outside air temp sensor, and installing it outside or drilling a hole for a wire. We moved from an indirect water heater off the furnace to an electric one years ago, so the furnace can completely shut down without an issue if we don't need heat. I also like that it keeps the circulator pump off until the temp hits 125F so it's not pumping cold water, and likely increasing furnace heat time time (and fuel consumed). With a Smart Oil Gauge I'll be able to see if we're using less oil this winter as well.

The product didn't come in new condition, might have been refurbished or just opened and re-packaged. Multiple screws were rattling around inside of the casing and the punch out covers for the different wiring paths were already removed.Return process was easy.

I replaced my old noisy mechanical unit with the model 3250. It has saved me a pile of money. Puts a smile on my face when my neighbors with similar homes get double the amount of oil deliveries I use over the winter. Only issue I've had is once it warned of low water condition. The boiler had plenty of water. The problem was over the years, about 10 years, the sensor no longer made good contact with the well it slides into. Sliding the sensor out , cleaning the metal spring on the end of the unit with contact cleaner and sliding it back into the well corrected the problem.

Just brought up was exactly what I need it for my replacement very fast delivery well after buying this and having it delivered finding out that I didn't need it I returned it back to owners they were slow on refund
