I have gotten some questions on what this Motopower MP69040 does and doesn't do. I am no expert on code readers so I posted the last page of my manual that has their web address for manuals. I also tried to post a pic of the faq and specification page. I wish I could help more but hopefully you can go to the manual on their website and see what it does and does not read. Besides that, and me being a non-expert, I found the cost reasonable, it plugged right in and connected to my Hyundai easily and I got the basics of it pretty quickly, even as a novice. The manual is good and easy to read. My car didn't throw any codes but the voltage monitor on it did help me determine my battery was not holding a charge and was completely dead. Overall, I am happy with this and I think it was worth it. Hopefully that info will help a little!

Tested it out on my so sons car that was having issues and it helped me find the problem. Bought the part we needed and now the check engine light is gone. I still have more to learn about it but love it so far.

Newbie and not really sure how to fully use OBD2 scanner but beginners luck was on my side...I was able to update software to latest version. You can find and download update on mfg website. It's tricky because you will need to download update to a Windows machine (will NOT work with Chromebooks) and use a USB C type of connection. Will not update without USB C to USB C connection. Good luck, it's difficult but doable.After update, plugged into my Mini Cooper, powered up but did not connect at first even with key fob in "on" position, so I just started car for a few minutes and scanner connected and then I was able to turn off ignition but on a Cooper I left key fob in place.My engine was running rough and check engine light came on, decided buy this scanner and try diagnose what might be wrong. Not really sure what to look for but scanner did show error code P0302, which means a misfire on cylinder #2. I was able to clear the check engine after replacing COP coil and spark plug on cylinder #2 but that's another whole story...Scanner seems to be worth, not sure if it's really necessary to update to latest firmware, (NOTE - scanner will work with or without updating). Just remember, yes, you can clear check engine light BUT unless repairs are done, the light will come back on...

Does everything you would for a beginner code scanner. Came well packaged and included usb cable. The only real complaint is the screen kinda small and nearly impossible to read in the dark. Especially the print that entails your codes in system. Well see how accurate it is once i replace some bad sensors. A plus to this device is the function for live data and communicates very fast

I misplaced my decades old scanner and needed something quickly to read codes without having to go to the store and wait for a free scan. I found and bought this one and have no problems with it. My last scanner only displayed codes and deleted them. This scanner actually tells you what the code means which means I don't have to remember what the code was and hit the internet to find out what it means. I also played around with some of the livestream features to see what the engine and components were doing, pretty neat reader. I did come across my old reader which I gave away to someone who doesn't have one since this one is much better.

Does everything its supposed to do...Great tool to have for your vehicle....needs compatibility with IOS though...

I bought this for an engine warning light that led to a breakdown. I was told what the fault was and repaired the car myself but had no way to cancel the error on the cars system. So purchased this to try to avoid paying a garage for what only takes a minute at most.. so it's easy to use and immediately showed me the fault then I cleared it and no more issues, well except one.. the engine light wouldn't go away. After further reading it turns out that my car needs a set number of start/ stops or a set distance for the light to turn off ( self diagnose ) but at least this tool got the car out of limp mode and fully cleared the error message. It does seem to have a lot of other features that seem to me as useful to.. definitely value for money as the garage would have charged me at least what this cost to clear that problem
