Bought two of these for my 9th graders who needed these for geometry. They both told me they are easy to use and so they make learning more enjoyable--which is important in math! Taking the pencil on and off is easy by just adjusting a simple screw, though it comes with a pre-sharpened one. They also like that they come in their own case!

If you do any drawing at all, you need a functional compass. I needed to replace an old one. Didn't need lots of bells & whistles, just functional, reasonably durable.This fits that bill, very nicely. It works, and seems to be of a reasonable quality.Only "nit", it came in a nice small plastic box. Modeled inside for the compass, and the included pencil. Except, once you put the pencil in the compass, the combination no longer fits in the box. Really?Well, you don't need to keep it in the box, and taking the pencil out of the compass after every use so you can use the box is dumb. Come on folks, think it thru, a bit. The world doesn't need more plastic waster.But, I'd still buy it again, for what it is.
