Broke the cam gear pin within 100 miles ..very disappointed considering the cost of this msd distributor. I went back with a parts store replacement and no issues now.

I purchased this Distributor for my 1989 Ford F-250 5.8L (351 Windsor) and realized that the gear on this particular MSD 8452 model was not compatible with my engine. It turns out that Roller Cams are not standard with the 1989 manufacturing year, "Flat Tapped" hydraulic lifters were standard manufacturing. It took me many hours of research to find this out, the correct distributor is the MSD 8453 which as an "Iron gear". The type of gear iron or steel is crucial to prevent damage to the engine.
