I turn a lot of green wood for blanks that I slow cure for projects a couple of years down the line. This center has seen countless hours of off balance turning when I'm shaving off bark and branch nubs to make anywhere from 3" to 12" diameter blanks up to a couple of feet long. No complaints as it never gets warm and it always takes a full load with no issue. I use it for finished projects as well and the long point lets me get in close for small diameter work as well. I've seen complaints that it isn't concentric but the point is ground to be nicely centered, it's an optical illusion that happens because of the way it's ground. it can appear non concentric but it is if you pay attention to the tip, not the grind marks.Would buy again.

The delivery was ahead of Amazon's prediction. According to my dial indicator, the runout on this live center is really about .2 thousandths. Hard to believe as my other live center is about 26 thousandths. I expect my work will run a lot truer now. The only fault I have with this is the MT2 is a bit short keeping the center from popping out of the tailstock when it is fully retracted. I put a couple of threads in the drilled taper end and added a screw there to avoid the problem. Good live center for turning close to the end of the work.

very sharp point. had to stone it down to avoid impaling my arm. hold true no taper issues for out of concentricity. main problem that I have noticed is it does tend to heat up pretty fast on a lathe. mainly because I am turning metal and I need a tight fit to keep it from moving.

Great live center when you need a smaller point or more access to the end of the turning you are doing. For most wood turners, get the big 60 degree live center first, I use it much more often. Great second or third live center though.

First issue. The MT length is/was too short to engage the stop in the rear of my metal lathe tailstock. As It was impossible to eject the center, I had to disassemble the tailstock and knock it out. Drilled and tapped the end of the center and installed a button. Now it ejects okay. Second issue. There is over .008†runout, you can see it with your eyes. Never found this out until I went to use the center. Absolute junk
