Not the most precise. There was a 1.5 thou runout. But it served the purpose we needed.

The lathe this is on gets used constantly. I am not gentle with it. I have had to replace just about every part of it because I have used it so much. It has the look of a farm truck that has been used for decades. This got tossed on the lathe and used just like the rest of it. It is probably the 20th live center that has been on the lathe. The small ones like this (not the huge ones for big jobs) usually wear out pretty quickly. This one seems to be taking it in stride.It's covered in oil now. It has some spray paint on it because the lathe is flat and used as a painting table. It looks used. However, it works just like it did when I installed it. Everything is free as it should be, and I've barely managed to damage it. It does have some nicks, but that's no surprise.

I ordered this live center to upgrade my lathe, which I got with only a dead center. This is a very nice improvement. While I’ve only just installed it, I can already tell it will make my wood turning experience better. It spins smoothly and silently without any wobble or slop. It came well-packaged in a plastic holder and wasn’t covered in grease, like some many other machine components are. I appreciate being spared the messy job of cleaning shipping grease off of this part before installing it.I can’t speak to this part’s durability, since I only recently installed it, but so far, I’m very pleased with its quality.The bottom line: this seems like a good value if you’re looking for an MT1 live center for your lathe.

Zero perceptible play, bearings are tight while allowing the hardened point to spin freely. The point has a stepped angle, so it can support either a centering hole or the end of a cylinder of two different diameters.Good value on an excellent live center, recommended.

Excellent live center, almost an item of art! Husband says no slop, great to work with. He's very pleased and would order again!!!
