Scribe would not tighten up enough to hold a set position. That makes it useless when scribing.

I was looking at another version of this and came across this one for a good deal cheaper, figured it was a knockoff of the other but bought it cuz I could get it sooner.It did the job I wanted it to and I've been happy with the purchase. Love the pencil and use it alone for writing while in the shop or any project.

Works pretty well. The back bolt doesn't hold completely in place. But I'm OK with that. It's not a problem for me.

This is "very" well made & heavy. It may be perfect for some people and or projects.Being an old school "craftsman". It's not practical for me. I was thinking of a simple "scribing compass" (used to put a pencil in it).This is bulky and unnecessarily complicated. I need to draw/scribe symmetrical lines & small circles. This is not for small intricate "drafting table" precision work.On a positive note. The multitude of colored "pencils" are helpful on dark hardwoods.

It definitely has a lot of functionality but the point isn’t sharp enough to be useful and hold it in place. The tension screws take a ridiculous amount of torque to tighten it up enough to not move. Given the price I’ll fix it up to work better
