Used this unit to replace an old remote which was repeatedly failing (not a battery issue). I contacted Napoleon and they said that the remotes / receivers will periodically need to be replaced. I thought that was a little silly, but the new unit works great and looks very modern compared to the original remote. Simple on off operation, and works every time. Very happy.

It would help to have the on and off buttons easily seen in low light - perhaps different colors. I've added simple paint dots to mine. My dog and I like to watch movies in the evening with the lights low and the simple 1 and 0 don't cut it.

I put this in the wall next to the fireplace. It was easy to install. I then programmed my Bond Hub to control it via Amazon Echo devices. My only issue is that the cover plate is a little shallow and doesn't sit flush against the wall because I had to use an old work switch box. I tried shaving the inside of the plate but it still needs some work. Otherwise an awesome product.

I bought this in "Used- Very Good" condition. It arrived ahead of schedule and as described. The hardest part was figuring out the battery compartment on the receiving unit.

I liked this remote unit as I have had it 3 years now and works as expected. BUT, recently discovered that the battery compartment on receiver is thin cheap plastic that holds the batteries. It broke because of the springs holding the batteries and now wont stay connected unless I duct tape it shut. They could have made the battery compartment stronger to withstand the pressure of the batteries, and now I am looking for a different replacement.

I had a simple electrical toggle switch mounted on the side of the fireplace (by the builder); it was a simple matter of disconnecting the leads from the toggle switch where they connected to the fireplace (under the actual burner) and then connect the F45 leads in their place; I left the receiver unit in the same place (under fireplace). Setting the remote up with the Bond Bridge was quick as was the subsequent Alexa integration. While I have the remote available to use (with its thermostatic functions), its even easier to just say "Alexa turn on the fireplace".
