it is sturdy, and there are no tear-out perforations that make other books pages fall out prematurely. the pages are bound into the hard cover just like a high end book would be bound.

National used to be the cat's meow, but like (all?) U.S.A. products, the quality has been squeezed and shaved to the point where you no longer accept a product you once loved. Paper is very poor quality. Maybe they should change to using Vietnam or Brazil paper, which is decent enough stuff.
