It's compact which is what I needed for a travel light stand. Just be aware that if you max the load out on this thing it will begin to struggle. Highly recommend sand/water bagging the feet and keep it out of harms way. Otherwise it was exactly what I was looking for.

medium weight, sturdy enough for my uses. if i were a professional, i'd get a heavy duty stand for studio work. i might have ordered the next taller size, tho

This bad boy is so compact when collapsed. But when you open it up and start playing with it, it really expands VERY high (tall).I was really super impressed. Yes, I know it literally states "71 inches" in the headline, but still... it's tall. And it's stable. You can invert it for a tighter stance or use it the other way for wider stance. This is being used for a laser level - for construction on a commercial job site. After a few weeks of use, I can report that it works great. It has no glitches and no sticking points.I has held a laser level, a work light and camera. It has been dropped down two flights of the center stairwell, dropped off a ledge and got left out in the rain in the back of a pickup truck. It's a durable stand and worth every penny.it's well made of a sturdy but light material.

This stand is lightweight and folds up small. But I will not be extending it with any kind of weight on it. It's great for a speedlight as a background light. But tall with any diffuser added and I think you'd be asking for trouble.

I have a variety of compact stands - this is fairly typical - each specific brand having various benefits and drawbacks.Overall, this is a decent little stand - they used the reverse leg design to keep it compact and short sections to make up the total height. They added a formed groove in the tubing - this probably strengthens the tube slightly but more importantly, none of the sections rotate - they all stay aligned with the locking levers all in the same place and just slide up and down - I'm finding that to be a nice addition and feature. The stand holds a reasonable amount of weight - it is a light weight stand - but functional. I haven't found any of these to do well with offset loads but work fine if the weight is centered or at least balanced. The stand has one odd issue - when folded up, the legs down't stay tight to the center of the stand - they tend to flop around a bit and partially unfold - once stored, its fine but may make it prone to damage if not cautious.Decent little stand - quite compact and reasonably priced -

. . . I use this stand for my slave flash. You will wnt to get a cheap ball head for more versatility in aiming.Seems stable enough for light loads.

I was flying to an event that I photograph and had one headshot to take while I was there. I have lots of light stands (everything from lightweight stands to c-stands) but, since I only needed to take one headshot, I didn't want to have to transport my golf club case I use to fly with my full studio setup. I saw this stand on Amazon and decided it would be the right one to hold a reflector for my setup and would easily fit into my suitcase. I, also, purchased a 2nd Neewer portable light stand that extends higher (up to 86.5") to use for my main light. (Both stands are sold by Neewer.)I quickly figured out that the light stand leg spread has to be minimal to get the stand to its full height. That makes it less stable. Fortunately, I only planned on using this to hold a reflector. You can see in my photo of my hotel room setup that the stand works fine for holding a reflector. It folds down very compactly and took up little room in my suitcase. It's reasonably nicely finished. In comparing this one to the other Neewer stand I bought, I much prefer the fit and finish of the taller stand. This 71" model has plastic flip locks for the extending the stand and they don't feel too robust. The other model has twist locks, which I prefer. The stand itself seems well made but just doesn't have the same quality feel as the other stand I bought. If you're trying to keep your costs down as much as possible and need a travel stand, this one will work fine in supporting lightweight lights with a modifier. If you're not using a soft box with your light, you can put a little bit heavier light on it. If you don't mind spending a little more, I think the other Neewer stand is a better value. It has a nicer finish, gets taller (86.5") and even comes with a carrying bag. (Because of discounts that were running when I got these, the taller stand was only $8 more.)

Rubber feet are good and stable but the folding size doesnt fit in an amazon carry on luggage.I wish they added 10cm more on the height.

I loved it, it’s strong and durable. I gave 4 star reason because I was looking smaller stand which can fit in my hair kit so I don’t have to carry extra bag , its still long. Other than this it’s good purchase

If you're looking for a higher quality, 'all-metal' light tripod, this isn't it. Very little improvement over the stock models Neewer ships with their gear, if any. All the brackets and joins are plastic with pretty flimsy rivets. Not saying it isn't worth the money, but if you're expecting a big improvement over the ones that come with your gear, you're going to be disappointed.
