I purchased this for my led light. It is quite strong, yet light weight. Easy to move around. Erognomic and easy adjustments. Price is a good value.

For the price, and purpose -works great. -It is meant for a light weight load; and not for a heavy set up.

I start trusting the Neewer brand. It is almost heavy-duty. It was priced better than its competitor. I like the legs. It is compact when folded and sturdy when needed.

Unfolds easily, holds well in place. Good fit for moderately tight spaces if needed.

Solid materials, great engineering, incredible value, however it’s too short. I prefer much taller supports to achieve 45 degree lighting in my subjects.

This is my review of the "NEEWER Photography Light Stand"In years past, Neewer were a budding-up-and-coming Photo/Video Accessory company. Today, they are consistently coming out with some banger products that undercut their competitors at an exceptional value. This fold-up light stand represents the strides they've made in innovating and expanding their product line.Regarding the build quality at first inspection, I was a little dumbfounded at just how small it was folded up. Considering how light it was, I was not expecting it to hold anything very heavy, especially when extended all the way to max height. That is partly true when the top section is extended all the way, and the legs stance width is in the first "notch" (meaning legs not extended and on the narrowest setting, taking up the smallest footprint of the 3 leg notch positions). With a 24" Softbox and a speedlight, it's extremely stable in this position. If I'm feeling a little nervous, I can simply widen the leg stance to the 2nd notch for increased stability. However, I wouldn't really trust it with any bigger studio lights (600ws) and a larger softbox. It starts to become very top heavy and has a bit of sway when using heavy equipment. Thankfully, it's not trying to fill that niche. It's role in the marketplace is to be extremely light and portable, and I can say that it absolutely excels at that. If you need more stability, there is a spring loaded hook at the bottom that you can hang weights or a camera bag from to help bring the COG down. This stand uses a clip-style system to adjust the different sections of height. I much prefer these compared to the twist-lock mechanisms that are present on other stands/tripods. The ones on the Neewer stand are so much faster at setting up and taking down.Overall, I'm delighted that I've found the perfect travel stand. It perfectly blends portability and functionality at an extremely reasonable price. I would most definitely recommend this to anyone that either needs a portable and compact light stand solution, or even as a first studio light stand for lighter equipment like speedlights.

This light stand was pretty interesting, because instead of your typical light stand, this is a modified tripod. Given that it is based off of a tripod, it lets you adjust the leg positioning independently for all three legs, unlike your typical light stand. You can still widen the "stance" with these but the independent movement is the big change. That and being able to flatten the tripod. The build quality in general is pretty consistent with a tripod of this price range. The flip locks work well but are plastic, and are not adjustable, so in the long run if the legs start to slip, it'll be time to take out the electrical tape to add thickness to make the flip lock work again. But, do as a tripod can do, this light stand will work pretty well. Except that its center column is extra long of course. This is actually the only reason to consider this over a cheap tripod with a 1/4" to 5/8" spigot mount. If you don't need the extra height, that would probably be the way to go, but this one will allow you to go much taller than most tripods. For indoor use, this product works well but isn't necessary over a more typical light stand, unless you need a bit more of the extra versatility in terms of weighting the stand down when using it with a offset load. But if you need one for outdoors, short of using a tripod this would be a very good budget option.

The materials in this light stand are of good quality. The stand is sturdy and well made. I also find that the stand is pretty lightweight considering its height range and that the tubes are made of aluminum.I’ve used this stand for over a month to do some product photography at home. I mostly use it to hold a 60W COB video light and I don’t extend the stand beyond 5 feet. Under those circumstances, I find the stand stable. The rubber feet grip well. Adjusting the height of the stand or the legs is easy and quick. Although the twist locks and flip locks are made of plastic, they secure the stand sections and legs well. One of the things I like the most is the reversible leg design. This stand takes up little space in my small studio when it’s folded up for storage.Considering its quality, good performance and reasonable price, this Neewer light stand is definitely a great value.
