Works just as intended, secure support for my 6 lb seestar s50 telescope. A little difficult to get threads started on bottom of scope especially on a dark night, so do hold your telescope securely until you're sure it's screwed in. A big time saver to assure scope is leveled.

I have an indexing rotator that's 63mm in diameter, and needed a levelling base for it. The measurements weren't specified, so I took a chance on buying the 50mm version of this. Fortunately, the top plate is 60mm in diameter, so it fits near perfectly. The bottom is 50mm, so it should fit most tripods. If you need rubber washers for the top, look for item B00FO7KYIW. Those fit perfectly.

Used this on my tripod that is not originally a ball head. I mainly do real estate photography and this significantly cut down on time to line up shots. The only issue is sometimes the locking screw gets in the way of the camera base. Regardless, I would highly recommend.

I bought the 50mm for my monopod and the 60mm to pair with my tripod. This is a very efficient way of making tiny adjustment to level your camera. With my monopod, I dont have to to fiddle with the feet and all adjustment for leveling are done a few inches away from the camera where my hands are already placed so it's fast and more accurate.

I needed a super compact base to attach to my mini tripod to give my spotting scope a bit of tilt option. I decided to go with the Neewer 50mm product since it was the smallest available option I was able to find after hours and hours of searching all over the net. Overall, I have happy with the product - though I do have two small complaints - the first is the bubble level, I'm gonna eventually mill that right off. I wish they had attached it as a separate piece that I could just remove with a screwdriver or hex head. The second complaint is the length of the screw used in the locking lever. It could have been a lot shorter, and I don't think I can remove it to shorten it down. I tried (without taking the whole thing apart.) There is about 5mm of extra length on the screw. Kind of annoying, but not a deal breaker.Overall, I think it is the best inexpensive leveling base - and great for my use as part of my spotting scope kit along with a mini-tripod that I mount it to setting it on a bench or table for target shooting.

The problem with this elegant, inexpensive device is that one screw knob controls both the tension on the connection to the base -AND- the tension of the swivel mount - but that the base gets priority. It means that the cradle holding the camera can move with more than a small amount of pressure instead of LOCKING in place. This makes it useless for anything where you have to swivel the camera like when shooting panos.Im sure this device works great for most purposes but it was a fail for what I needed it for.It should not be using the same screw knob to control both tensions.

One could spend two to six+ times as much on one of these devices, but I can't imagine how one could get a better product. It works perfectly. The movement is damped, which makes it very easy to adjust.Of interest is those set-screws which are to stabilize the head, once installed. My gimble head base isn't wide enough to use them, but it's all perfectly stable anyway.

I use this for a stationary camera setup. It is well built and does the job I want. However, one flaw that is quite an irritation. On a common Canon EOS T7, there is no notch in the base to allow the battery door to open. So, I have it all set and positioned exactly as I need it, but then need to unscrew the camera to change out the battery.

Update Dec 23, 2023After going out and using this a few more times I have to say this is the best photography purchase I have made since replacing the strap that came with my camera. After putting the tripod down it only takes a moment to level it and I can start shooting. Also, the gritty feel to the movement has reduced to the point that I hardly notice it anymore. Is this item for you?- If you are buying a tripod for the first time or are not happy with your current tripod and are looking to upgrade your current one for reasons other than the levelling feature then no. There are lots of tripods out there with levelling build in already so just get one of those.- If you are happy with your your current tripod and but having to fiddle with the legs to level it is the only problem then definitely give this a try.OriginalWhile looking for a tripod with a levelling feature I came across this little device which would allow me to add this ability to my existing tripod. So far this was a great decision. Previously I would have to adjust one or two of the tripod legs every time I changed locations but now I just loosen the leveller base, level the camera and tighten it back.It is entirely metal and can hold a fairly heavy lens without any issue (e.g. 500mm lens). My camera and lens are about 6 lbs and I did not have any problems. One word of warning though, make sure you hold your camera when you loosen the base or it will flop over.Pros.- Small. Smaller than it looks in the pictures. In fact, once you attach it to your tripod you will not even notice that it's there.- Allows you to quickly level you camera without needing to adjust your tripods legs.- All metal construction- Comes with a bubble level- Simple to attach and use- When tightened down it does not move.- Can hold a fairly heavy lens.Cons- The little set screw for securing your tripod head is too short and basically useless. That said, I did not have any problem with the head loosening up after several hours of carrying the the rig around on my shoulder. I removed one star for this because if they are going to include it then it should work.- The movement has a bit of a gritty sound / feel but that did not impede the movement. This improved after using it for a while.- The bubble level can end up in a awkward location under your camera making it hard to see. This was not an issue for me as I keep a separate bubble level in my camera's hot shoe. If your camera has an electronic level you can use that also.- The tension is difficult to adjust. It is either totally loose or locked down. If you fiddle with it a bit you can get it somewhere in between but it's tricky. It works for it's purpose though.Being able to quickly level my camera each time I changed locations was a joy and it's cheaper than buying a new tripod when you have one you are already happy with. I definitely recommend this product.

I have road tested this product for quite a while now. It is very robust, strong and does a great job. I would suggest the any landscape photographer, who does panoramic photography get one. It makes life so much easier. It is permanently attached to my tripod.
