For the past 20 years, I have I been using a neoprene Neotech soft strap. I could no longer tolerate it because of discomfort. I believed that the 7 lb weight of the tenor sax transferred onto my neck was a major factor in the causation of my neck pain. I use the JazzLab sax holder when I am standing with comfort, but when sitting to play, it shifts to the right causing a shoulder discomfort. After trying the Neotech Bravo, I realized that the flat straps of the old style Neotech strap being pulled down by the weight of the sax created pressure on the sides of my neck. The bow device on the Bravo keeps the supporting cables straight from the neck band down to the bow, eliminating pressure on the sides of the neck and therefore the uncomfortable neck constriction inherent in the design of most sax straps. The spring-loaded plastic closed hook is secure, but I would prefer the option of having a well constructed plastic hook that could easily be detached with a single hand, like the Selmer Ray Hyman strap that was the standard for many years. I prefer the look of the Bravo matte black over the shiny polished aluminum. I purchased the Bravo, this is not a review written after the product was gifted to me. I would be happy to review the Bravo 2.0, black matte with an open hook. Please consider manufacturing one for me.
