Bought this to test and see if I can use the WWAN port on my Dell Latitude 5401 as an extra storage location and I am glad to report it worked. The WWAN port on my laptop can fit a 42mm NVME (2242) with a B+M key. With this adapter you can use the faster PCIE NVME but the 30mm (2230) NVME for it fit the WWAN port. The NVME I was able to test the adapter with was a spare SK Hynix BC511 512GB Gen3 2230 NVME. My laptop was able to recognize the said NVME as a spare drive and as a main drive when I installed Windows 11 Pro. Lastly, there were no speed degradation on the NVME tested whether it was a spare drive or as the main OS drive.

I needed this extension for my laptop to PC conversion, but when I opened the box this was in it reeked of some horrible smell, the only way I can describe it is dog poop and old rotten eggs. The connector worked great though, even if it did stink for a while.

Had to send it back and go another direction. Cable to PC slot end came broken right out of the bag. After seeing this I would not trust a replacement or how long would it last when installing.

Bought it to add a pcie nvme ssd in the latitude WWAN port. The b+m slot allows your to add a nvme pcie card and get to the right size (2242) so that the drive can be secured with a screw to the motherboard. This allows you to have a second ssd in your dell latitude 7300 laptop (ymmv) for dual boot/backup etc. Didn't notice any slow down using the adapter. Had it for a week where I formatted , restored an image and booted off the drive using uefi. The speed when booting off the drive was acceptable. I tested with a kioxia 256 mb and a samsung 991a 2230 nvme ssd.

I have an HP Omen 870-244 and the NVME slot is beneath where the graphics card is. There's zero room for a heatsink on the NVME drive.This adapter allowed me to relocate the drive for airflow and so I could put this on it as well:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08G823MLDNow it's located in front of an exhaust fan and staying VERY cool so no more thermal throttling and speed reduction.This is an excellent niche device.I just zip tied it to the board so it'd stay put. Excellent device.

Cable and connectors are great. Solid connection. Tested a GPU on this. If you have very limited space above the slot, this may not fit due to the clip height, but if that's not an issue, you should get this style.

This is an excellent adapter to fit shorter form factor SSDs in a laptop. It is easily adjustable for length.My Dell has a full length heat sink pad in SSD tray so to keep the new short SSD in contact with that, I fitted the adapter above the SSD rather than below, and it works just fine
