Step 1
Remove the wind speed anemometer's yellow soft rubber protective cover.
Step 2
Open the battery cover with the provided screwdriver.
Step 3
Put in the CR2032 battery and tighten the screw, "+" should face outside (battery include).
Step 4
Press “Mode” for 2 seconds to power on, and press "Mode+Set" button at the same time to power off

I bought it to measure the air going INTO my air ductwork (for AC and Heat). Looking to see what the difference is when the filter gets dirty. So far it’s working good. Read the same spot a few times and repeatable. Hopefully I’ll get data in a few months.

I really like the size as it will be perfect for measuring the air velocity at auto ac vents. Unfortunately I haven’t had time to use it so I can’t comment on its functionality.

I’ve been using this to measure the inlet and outlet airspeeds on a ducted IT cooling system. The cheap price yet consistent results have made me very happy. What started as a throw away idea turned into a process this tool helps with almost daily.

I got this because I just needed a cheap and simple way to measure wind speed for some outdoor sports. For $15 this gets 5 stars. It’s compact and fairly easy to use.If I was to have negative critiques they would be as follows…. The buttons sometimes stick in the plastic housing so when pressing them just make sure you press perfectly straight down. Since there’s only two buttons switching modes isn’t quick and easy because you have to hold a button then tab through to get what you want. The recessed button to switch from C to F for temperature is recessed so deep it’s hard to find an object to use to press it.Even with the aforementioned negatives I still give 5 stars because the negatives don’t have much effect on actually using the device and it is after all only $15

Purchased this for my son for Christmas. It worked for a few days then randomly stopped working. I returned it. The new one came and same thing! Only worked for a few days before it wouldn't turn on anymore! DON'T BUY THIS ANEMOMETER!

I can't speak to the accuracy of the data itself for the price, but for that matter it doesn't matter. I was able to use this device at each register of my house to get a baseline for what speed was available at each vent. I was blown away to find out that my upstairs bedroom which was always cold in the winter and hot in the summer was getting 1/6th of the air flow than my downstairs dining room.By adjusting the airflow and restricting what was going into the dining room, I was able to boost the output in the bedroom and the entire home is now more comfortable. Can't speak enough good things about air balancing your home.

Bought this because it was cheaper, appeared easy to read / use, and looked durable. Have had no problems using (not intuitive, but also not too hard to figure out) and battery's lasted well. Unfortunately, my device reads about 3 mph less than the actual wind speed, and this appears to vary (low wind, more accurate / high wind, less accurate). Tested this by comparing with a friend's wind gauge and actual weather report - both the others read higher than my device. Final test was holding it outside a car driving 20 mph on a windless day - my meter read only 17 mpg. So: a good approximation, but not accurate if you're trying to record correct data or call off an event due to high wind...

While it is a nice unit and well made, always seemed to lower on wind speed then some other "known wind speed " units that I have, therefor the 3 stars.That however, might be very Ok for someone else, depends what they need.
