The tool serves its purpose.I was expecting something a little more substantial. The tool is little more than a thin piece of stamped out sheet metal wrapped around a piece of shaped wire, but it does hold the sound post in position, measures the correct distance in, and releases from the sound post without knocking it down again once in position.RG

My kiddo was the one to request this, after trying a round puck looking rock stop that slid around a bit, I decided to order this one. It works wonderful!!!

My son was using the rock stop from school and kept leaving it there when he had his orchestra meetings. I bought this so he would have one at home. I like the way the middle groove of the hole is a little bit more deep than some others. This helps the cello to stay put better and the floor unscratched. It also has a soft rubber like bottom of the stop which is a plus as well. It's a fantastic price to boot.
