Great starter for the price. Jugs are thick and durable too.

These are perfect for fermentation of test batches. Seem pretty solid, no imperfections noticed. The bottom inside is convex so might not be good for magnetic stirrer. Nice that they included a warranty information card. The black lid screws on and has one of those waxy papers underneath to form a seal, should be adequate to prevent liquid from leaking to sanitize/oxygenate.The stopper is a solid piece of rubber with very little give, pictured is how far it sits in the mouth by just placing it (not pushing for a proper seal). I dont think I will use this "S" type airlock as I have a 3 piece that I prefer to use due to ease of cleaning. The yellow cap does allow air to pass through, I'm not sure how it would do against fruit flys.Overall I am very satisfied and surprised at the quality and price. North Mountain may have gained a fan.

These carboy are great. The glass is nice and thick and will last you through more brews than you have time for. The double bubbler is just ok. The plastic is cheap and will crack easily. Just replace with better quality airlock. As for the bungs... they do stay put just fine and without a rubber band. Make sure they are dry as are the necks of the carboys and you won't have a problem. I can't see why anyone would leave them wet and get all that liquid going funky in there, talk about foul tasting.

I have an orchard and have been making a lot of wines and meads. After my first few efforts, I've gotten more experimental, and also faster in my approach. I really appreciate the rugged air locks. I can use and reuse, wash, sanitize, and they have held up really well. I use only the one gallon jugs, and usually buy the 4-packs.

I really like this kit and have made a couple batches of cider already, but just be aware that the rubber stoppers like to pop out. I've found that wrapping two rubber bands around on each side of the airlock, wrapped around to the bottom of the jug, is sufficient to keep them in place though. It's a minor inconvenience but the product remains quite useable. Glass feels nice and sturdy too.

Do you like brewing? These are fantastic for it! I prefer to do any sort of primary fermenation in a larger vessel, but these one gallon jugs are fantastic for aging different flavorings of a single ferment. The caps are a nice touch although I didn't really use them.5/5 product, it delivers what it says it will.

Good price and tops that fit snug. They also come with lids that are very handy when you are going to use them as regular bottles as well. I would recommend watching the tops closely for the first day, mine came out if I had gotten them too wet, so be careful that they are sealed and tight.

Been using these for cider making - no issues so far.Yes the airlocks could be better quality but they are getting the job done just fine.Glass carboys are solid.I have had no issue with the bung coming out (for cider fermentation). Just make sure the bung and the necks are dry before inserting...
