I've been using the NOYAFA Network Cable Tester extensively and I'm thoroughly impressed with its capabilities and affordability. This versatile tool has made my network installations and troubleshooting tasks much easier. It features an optical power meter and VFL, making it invaluable for both fiber and Ethernet cable testing. The tester supports various standards including CAT5, CAT6, RJ11, and RJ45, which covers almost all my needs for telephone, Ethernet, and video testing. The build quality is solid, providing the durability needed for regular field use. The device is also quite intuitive, making it easy to use without constantly referring to a manual. The inclusion of a PoE tester and wire tracer further enhances its utility, making it a comprehensive solution for network testing. The value for money is exceptional, considering the wide range of features it offers.Overall, I couldn’t be more satisfied with the NOYAFA Network Cable Tester. It’s a must-have for anyone involved in network setup or maintenance, providing accurate readings and helping to quickly identify and solve cable connectivity issues.

The device has a Variable Frequency Laser (1Hz, 2Hz, and Static) that is good for shooting light to find faults in fiber or locate where a connection is on a patch panel. Also has an Optical Meter to test how strong the light coming in is from another Switch/Router/Media Converter. I keep this in my car and it's saved my but a few times when I ran into fiber issues and was able to do some quick troubleshooting. Just gotta remind myself that -16.00 db is the "normal" threshold for a good fiber connection. The Ethernet parts work well too.Positives:Flashing Port = checking for connectivity. Provides speed, duplex, etc. It's good to know if I am even getting a good connection to start with.QC = If I am actually getting a copper contact on the termination. Good for when I make my own cables.Cont = This requires you plugging it into the port on the Toner on the far end so you can see what the cable is doing. Good for finding breaks and splits.Length feature is pretty accurate. Sometimes it'll show a pair that's not broken or anything as being way off. So you kinda gotta use your own judgement in some of these cases, but that's what we network engineers are paid for, right?Cons: Often find myself needing to use the port on the Toner for the most accurate results for the CONT and I have had some issues with using the actual toner correctly. But this likely was user error since I rarely ever tone anything out.All in all, it's definitely worth when working on a large network where you have a mix of copper and fiber. Especially when the name-brand competition has their products in the THOUSANDS of dollars price-range. So this definitely does the trick for me.10/10 recommend.

I feel like I got good value for what I paid. All the features seem to work fine, as does charging. I mostly use the unit to troubleshoot my homemade cable terminations in my house (POE cameras, hardwired connections to media players, desktop PCs used as media centers, interconnection of data switches, etc.) and it's solved several problems. I also use it to remind myself (hmmm...) which cables are which. I probably should do a better job labeling them. I've tested the fiber features on some old cables I have, but have never had any reason to use them for any real purpose. It doesn't seem particularly durable or built for hard use, but I just use it from time to time. One huge con of this set is that the instruction manual is pretty much worthless. Whoever wrote it made a sincere effort, I guess, but you're much better off just to jump in and start picking selections on the test unit and seeing what happens. It's hard to go too far wrong with this approach.

Bought this tester for setting up a new network in my home intended to use it as a way to test all the cable runs I am having to make. However I decided to do testing at work while we were waiting to move. I am very Impressed buy this device. Using the continuity scan I was able to determine bad connections on 5 lines that would not work. Using the length measurement feature I was able to determine where the issue was on each line and which end to start from. The worst being a cable which said there was a break about 3ft in the line. Luckly this line was behind a panel and after removing it helped me to determin the line had been crushed when the panel was assembles. The scan function works very well and helped me identify many un-labeled ports so far. I have yet to try other features but that alone impressed me very much. I do wish it had the ability to plug in and receive a DHCP address to make it easy to determin what network a port is on but you can substiture ping or IP scan function to make that determination. Not the cheapest and not the most expensive, I must say it is worth the price I paid and now I may have to order another just for work.

To start off, this device feels a little fragile for the work it's used for BUT it is hands down the most value and utility you will get for the price. I want to compare it to fluke for utility, but less than Klein for durability for equipment of the same capabilities. Love the product must protect at all costs.

One of my family moved to a house and there were cables all over the place. Looked around for ways to figure them out. Incidentally found this item on a google search.Works so well. I never knew something like this existed. The cable length and scan function is so useful. Without this it would have taken me days to figure the wiring. This is a full A+ product.
