The timer features green and red strippers to inset into slot times. To set the time of day, turn the time dial clockwise until the arrow points to the correct time. The dark area represents night and the white area is day. Plug light or household appliance into socket on body of timer and then plug unit into a wall outlet. A Master Switch is a temporary override for the timer. The 120-volt timer has a 1800-watt capability. The Tork RTN 112 timer is very similar to the old Intermatic timers I used to have that finally quit working. Setting the time is quick and intuitive. I also purchased the Tork RTN 312 timer thinking it might be better to have a grounded plug for my multiple strands of Christmas lights plugging into one timer. Both seem to keep great time. The Tork timers were at a more reasonable price point than the comparable Intermatic timers so that's what sold me.

Sometimes the timer skips and won't come on when set. Otherwise it works very well.

Love these timers. So much easier to use than the programmable timers out there. Just move the little pegs and you're done.

Bought four of these to replace 20 year old Intermatics and wish I had paid the premium for the real thing. Two of them have already failed just days after the 30 day Amazon return window. I expect the remaining two will fail soon. Half price sounds good until they don't work.

Would give it 5 stars if it weren't noisy, and it's practically impossible to tell if it's on or off from looking at the indicator
