Required a bit of size alteration to fit my old (vintage? obsolete?) Hondo bass, but worked out well.

This part didn't quite fit my bass at first, but nothing a little filing and dremeling couldn't fix. I actually ordered a similar part from another vendor and although the other part fit better, it put my strings too close to the frets and so I went and cut a curve on this part to match. Next, the width is about 3.5mm and I needed it closer to 3mm, so I filed this against a flat bastard file and eventually got it to about 3.1mm and went with that.The string spacing on this part was much better than the first part I tried and the material is actual bone instead of plastic. It's still a hair wider than my bass neck, but I may file down the sides if I get annoyed. I'm giving this 5 stars because it ended up working well in the end and overlooking the specified thickness was my fault.

I needed a replacement nut for a bass, and this fit almost perfectly - just had to fine tune the height just a bit to be correct for my instrument. In fact, I've even bought a different sized one for another bass that I wanted to have a bone nut on, instead of a plastic nut.
