I had a hell of a time removing a factory o2 sensor on a 2010 Challenger RT, it was cranked insanely tight so by the time I actually got the sensor off, it was totally mangled, bent, warped, threads were crushed flat. So of course not realizing how much damage I did, I tried to put a new o2 sensor in and didn't have much luck, I knew it was loose and wasn't threading properly because I damaged the internal threads on the catalytic converter. I did a little research and opted to buy this product. I removed the o2 sensor that I had installed, which was now wrecked because I tried to force it in to the damaged threads. Needless to say, I was pretty worried about having to try and replace the cat, plus some exhaust piping etc., this project was about to get expensive! I made sure the thread tapper was starting to thread properly, first tried with it attached to a rachet, but because of how tight the workspace was, I had to instead use a 7/8 wrench, which this product fits as well thankfully. It took some very serious elbow grease, but managed to thread it all the way in, loosening it back out was much easier so I knew it was having some effect. Anyway, along with a second new o2 sensor (which was my mistake on wrecking the first one), it worked like a charm. The product did have some wear, but considering how destroyed the internal threads were, it held up extremely well for the price. I would definitely buy it again or recommend to anyone else.

It worked well for my mechanic and I gave it to him after they change my O2 sensors.

Heavy duty, does what it says it does. Not sure why the end of the socket is tapered. A taper makes no sense, because on O2 sensors the nut part is typically thin, hence the taper of the socket does not engage at all. It should just have no taper at all.

Crazy how a simple little bend in the handle makes this so versatile. Helped get into a wheel well to replace my 02 sensor with ease.

Used this to replace an Air/fuel sensor on an RSX-S and it did the job just fine. My only concerns are that it is barely deep enough to accomodate the sensor and so the wires had to be bent practically at the point they left the sensor to allow the socket to push home. I also noted that the inside edge where the wires exit the socket was quite sharp so as a precaution I wrapped some electricians tape around the cables first to prevent damage. I'm glad I did as the tape had been cut into when I was finished. For $10 you can't really complain and as you only really use this for final tightening and to torque to specification so its failings aren't a show stopper.

I purchased this product for one reason, the extended depth of the socket portion. This was added to my tools as a more specialty O2 socket as I have a few others. I reduced my rating by one star simply because there is no OEMTools branding on the socket as is seen in the picture. This has no impact on its use, but it does make any sort of support or warranty claims hard as you are required to remember who made it. It is clearly a rebranded socket, just without the added branding except the packaging.Aside from that, the socket works great. It has a solid grip on the sensor and allows you to get to sensors that are buried behind a heat shroud that prevents the normal depth sockets from reaching it. If you choose this socket over a no brand socket for the warranty and service from OEMTools, be prepared to retain your proof of purchase as the tool is not branded.

Worked great to remove a stuck exhaust manifold O2 sensor on my Chevy Colorado. The deep slotted socket was too flexible, so after a few days of PB Blaster applications and hot/cold cycles, this socket popped the sensor loose in no time. Star-shaped drive hole is great for getting the right angle with a breaker bar, and the socket is strong enough not to deform when force is applied. To make it even stronger, you can place a hose clamp over the shank once the socket is on the sensor.

This socket fit perfectly on my O2 sensor and I removed the old one and installed the new one with ease. Still seemed kind of expensive, but considerably cheaper than what any of my local auto parts stores were asking for a socket that will get very little use because it has a very specific purpose. I know I saved a small fortune by buying the socket and changing the sensor myself instead of taking it to a mechanic.

I needed to chase a thread, thats all, this pile of rubbish destroyed its own threads in an exhaust and bound up, not hardened steel, just junk. Threw it in the garbage as soon as it messed up.
