Been using Old Thompson salt and pepper mills for years now. They're apparently well-made because the company provides a good guarantee and we've only ever had to use that once in many, many, years. This is a rather simple design and we love the fact that the mill itself is on the top of the unit so you don't have grindings on your table when you sit the unit down.

I’ve had the Old Thomson Pepper Grinder for at least 4 years and finally bought the matching Salt Grinder. The mechanism on these are very smooth even after years of use. They’re also easy to fill. I highly recommend.

Was hoping to buy American, but this Chinese made salt mill is value priced and mills salt well. I like that it has different settings for grain size. I may get one for work. Could not find an affordable American-made alternative!

We bought this to replace one we broke. Once we received it and saw the quality, we wish we would have bought two as it is even better quality than our original set.

I purchased this grinder to go with the Himalayan salt I got at the same time. This is a cute grinder that came with salt (white) already inside which was a nice surprise and would have been wonderful if I intended it for white salt. Anyhow, it arrives ready to go.I like this grinder for a number of reasons...first of all the salt is ground from the top not the bottom so you won't have little trails of salt crystals when you set it down. Secondly, there is a little disc top that covers the grinder when it is not in use. If you are a neat freak you will probably really like this feature. Thirdly, since I purchased it for the pink Himalayan salt, the clear glass container shows it off to perfect effect. The grinder itself is nice enough to put on the table and then explain to guests who've never seen pink salt exactly what is going on.Finally, it does a good job of grinding the salt which is really what you want it to do and so far I'm happy with the fact that it does what it is supposed to do! Four stars are an easy call for this guy.

No salt mill lasts forever due to salt being a very corrosive product, these mills last for years and are great quality.

I ordered a Bavaria salt and pepper mill with some extra salt. The salt mill came with a damaged lid. I called olde Thompson and asked if a replacement lid could be sent to me so I wouldn’t have to return the Item. The customer service agent said she would look for a replacement lid and call me back. She called back and said if she couldn’t get the lid she would send a replacement salt grinder. A new salt grinder came Fed X today. This kind of service is why Olde Thompson continues to be the largest salt and pepper mill company in the world. Very happy with the purchase.
