Well built, reliable and quieter oscillation than some of the more expensive induction stoves I've used. Although the body is all plastic, it's sturdy and doesn't get hot except for the top glass layer which cools quickly after use. I have used it with everything from a 3 inch espresso maker to a 10 inch pot. Keep in mind that its designed for up to 8 inch pots, so although it will quickly bring a 10 inch pot of water to a boil, its works best with pots up to 8 inches in size when cooking stews & sauces that need even heating.

Worked very well to keep a chili con queso dip warm for a neighborhood gathering. It won't get much use, but will be nice to have when needed.

This OMEO cooktop looks and feels well built and at 1800-Watts it performs fine. When using the "Temperature" option it holds the set temper perfectly within 1-degree-F. This is our first foray with induction heating and we love the concept. But, I now know there are critical questions to be asked before a purchase. Most importantly for us, what are the "steps" for temperature settings? This cooktop has has very large steps for each temperature setting. There only 10-steps and I thought that would be OK as we wanted this for slow cooking. But the "steps" are huge as it goes from 160-F to 240-F in a single step so a Simmer is really not possible. The next issue is whether it saves the last settings for next time. Since we will be only using it for slow cooking, having to set the temperature each time is a bit of a pain. Finally, it needs a "Start/Stop" button. This one starts as soon as you press the "Menu" button and you cannot preset the temperature or Watts before pressing "Menu." It always starts up at 1200-Watts and you have to race to get it back to where you want it. I think a "Start" button is mandatory and "Pause" button would be good. If you want to lift the pan and shake stuff it very quickly goes to an error code, "no pan" and if you take too long to get it back on the top, it shuts off.I like the way the it heats up water really fast so instead of returning it, I will move it to the garage for making tea etc.I have ordered a Nuwave cooktop with 51-steps in 10-F increments in temperature. And, it appears to have a Program mode allowing me to define and save multiple steps like 5-minutes at maximum to boil, then 40-minutes at 210 to Simmer. It is only 1500-Watts compared to OMEO 1800 Watts and it costs more, but for the extra bucks, it will provide the functions we need.Other than the above personal preference issues, the OMEO is a good cooktop.

This is a great little induction stove top. Very pretty and the controls are easy to use. Seems to have a standard size induction coil. Such a great buy I bought five for gifts. Has a dedicated button for warming or boiling. Great appliance for camping or emergency cooking. Just get a pure sine inverter and a couple of 100Ah batteries and plug it in. Cook eggs without the smoke and camp fire preparation. I especially like induction stoves because there is no heat around the stove. I can cook next to drapery or dry grass without worry of starting it on fire. Lightweight and portable. We need more of these type of quality low cost appliances.

I like the induction hot plate, it works as advertised, and boils water quickly. Like the timer feature and the ability to set the cooking temperature. Some concerns, the instructions say to unplug when not in use. Also to unplug before doing any cleaning, and I don't find a UL certification. Great price. Just be careful.

It’s inductive, so there’s no hot element/burner; the glass top does get hot though (I expected that). It boiled water faster than my full-size stove; cleans up easily (glass top!) and is easily transported. I originally bought it to use when we travel so I can cook in the hotel room; it’s great for that. I’ve also used it as a ‘warmer’ at home for a party. It replaced a regular electric element that was nowhere near as effective (or easy to clean) and the element got damaged in transport (it’s exposed, after all) - this one is completely enclosed and easy to pack.
