Works as advertised. I didn't have any major issues. These typically get hot, especially without the heatsink, but I felt this one was more manageable. Usually I can't even put my fingers on these without getting burned, so I was pleased to see it was DECENT. Still hot, but not as bad as I've encountered on some without a heatsink.Would recommend.

I had a docking station that worked with the older hard drivers but could not handle the newer SATA especially those over 2TB and certainly can't even do any SSD. So I got this docking to handle the newer data drives.And it works. There is a little enclosure which you can place your M.2 NVMe M-Key SSD in. That worked out. I used this new docking station to verify my collection of SATA hdds.When you installed your SSD into the casing, make sure to use the little blue pad and cooling vest that comes with the casing. There are also little tabs that lock that in place. Otherwise the SSD is too loose inside the casing. The components are there for you to make it work.My only gripe with the Orico model is that there is no light on in the front to let you know if you powered it on or not. When you click the power button, it takes about 5-10 seconds before the SATA hdd starts its wake up sequence. When it does, there is a little tiny blue light next to the hdd to indicate that something is going on. But nothing lights up in the front. After a while the hdd goes to sleep and the little blue light goes off but the actual docking station is still on. Hence, it would have been a better design if they had also included a power on light in the front.Otherwise, this is a decent replacement for my old docking station. It supports up to 22TB of SATA hdd.

They plastic button is mechanical, not electrical. If you attempt to hot swap a card in this, there is a good chance you will eventually fry it. The only way to safely use this product is to unplug it from USB before swapping the nvme or ssd card. That flaw makes this product useless. You would be better off getting separate enclosures with separate usb connections.

Thought I could use this to clone drives to deploy in computers at my company, but it's too fussy to be used in that fashion. Setting up the thin heatsink that it comes with does not fill me with confidence that it's gonna do anything with the plastic external case sealing it in. and the connection is proprietary to the housing. So swapping drives would be too much time for what it's worth. Getting it out the docking station it feels like the button is going to break. But to be honest, why would you remove it? I get low power external storage, but there are better form factors out there for just a tiny bit more money.

I work on the roan a lot and I was looking for a way to access NVME drives to pull files and wipe drives clean, I decided to try this one out. The kit comes with a base and an enclosure that you can dock on the base to get access to the drive. It connects to any PC with a USB-C cable that has one side as a USB-C and one site USB-A that can be removed and become a USB-C.The great thing about this dock is that it can hold various sized NVME drives, the enclosure comes with 2 rubber screw stoppers that can be used to hold these NVME drives in place. You can actually use the base without the enclosure as well, which was a crazy discovery for me. I keep a 1TB drive in the enclosure at all times and now I can use the base without the enclosure for quick access to any drive. A must have tool for any tech guy like myself.

The previous, brand-new Orico device I bought (a 3.5"/2.5" HDD dock & duplicator) suffered from some design deficiencies that made it problematic to use, and this NVMe/SATA docking device also has what seems to have an oversight.Though construction seems solid and refined, my device had real issues docking properly into the socket, staying docked, and then the release was also fussy to say the least. It almost seems as though this was a prototype, the way that the latch was implemented, since the little catch mechanism just doesn't want to work reliably and repeatably. Which is too bad, since the rest of the unit looks up to snuff.As others have said, it's unfortunately that the enclosure and the base are a pair, but additional enclosures are not available. This makes the whole notion of swapping out the enclosure with that tricky latch pretty moot.Another user also properly noted that the way the USB C adapter is attached to the USB A end of the cable, it's not always easy to plug the USB A connector into a computer, for example.Little things like this seem fussy, but once more, also make me wonder what's been slipping at Orico and if they are still rigorously testing on end users before releasing the product.Otherwise the unit does its job. Even if it's overkill for simply connecting an NVMe card to USB.

I'm using this to access the files on an extra storage only drive full of media files that I had in my old desktop computer. I pulled the drive out of the PC when I donated it and put it into storage. I'm not cloning the drive, just using this dock to access it. The drive has been sitting in a box since 2017, but I put it in the slot and it works fine. Nice dock to have, should I decide to clone it in the future.

SSDケースとベースがセットになった製品ですが、ベースに直接M.2 SSDを差し込む事が出来るため利便性が高いです。ベースについてはNVMeとSATAの両規格に対応しているため、殆どのM.2 SSDを使用する事が出来るのも良いです。ケースは一般的なM.2 SSDケースと比べるとやや大きめで、端子が直接露出している事もありやや使いづらい印象です。

最終更新日:2024/09/06１．検品パッケージ開封後の内容物は以下の通りでした。〇内容物①ハードディスクベース（スタンド）②ディスクトレイ及び付属品③USBケーブル④説明書以下、特記事項のある項目について記載します。①ハードディスクベース（スタンド）ドッキングステーションの土台部で同梱のカードリッジを差す事が可能です。尚、PC等のホストとの接続はTYPE-Cで、底面には滑り止めのゴムがありました。②ディスクトレイ及び付属品NVMe及びSATAの両方に対応しています。尚、速度はNVMeの場合最大10Gbpsですが、SATAの場合は6Gbpsとの事。又、付属品としてSSD固定用プラスチック（留め具）が2個、ヒートシンクとサーマルパッドが各1個ずつありました。③USBケーブルホスト（PC側）がキャップ式のTYPE-A/Cと使えるUSBケーブルで対向（土台側）はTYPE-Cです。尚、長さは約1m（TYPE-AかTYPE-Cを使うので多少変わる）ですが、キャップのTYPE-A端子側を固定しているシリコンゴムはTYPE-C端子側から出ているタイプでした。④説明書多国語で作成され日本語もありました。２．感想等※M.2 NVMe SSDを装着して使用してみています。①使用について単純にM.2外付けケースとしては速度的には問題ない感じで使えました。但し、それであれば一般的な外付けケースと変わりなくコスパが良くないかな？と思いました。（理由はこの後）②交換式ディスクトレイについてこのアイデアは良いと思います。しかしながら、トレイ自体が1個しかないのが現状交換する意味が無く、又、現状ではトレイ自体の（単体）購入も出来ないので先のとおり交換させる意味がないかな？・・と思いました。トレイの複数入りや個別で購入等が出来れば、又話は変わって来たでしょうが、この点が非常に残念に感じました。③不満点不満点は大きく1点で、同梱の（TYPE-A/C）キャップ式USBケーブルが使いにくい点。特にTYPE-C側なのですが、先に記載したとおり、TYPE-Cの端子側からTYPE-A（キャップ）の脱落防止用シリコンが出ているのでPC接続時に干渉してしまう点です。この場合、接触不良やアイドル時の認識不良だけであれば良いのですが、アクセス中に同事象になるとデーターを破壊する可能性があるので、このケーブルは止めて欲しいと思いました。（せめてシリコンは横から出すならまだ良いと思います）３．評価製品自体のアイデアは良いです。しかしながら、現状でディスクトレイが1個しかなく、又トレイ単体での販売もないのでコスパ的には普通の製品の方が良いかな？と思いました。又、先の不満点の通り、USBケーブルに問題があるので大きく減点し☆2としています。もし、使用するのであれば別途USBケーブルを用意して使用した方が良いと思います。以上〇更新履歴2024/09/06　初版

カートリッジ部分の別売が今のところなく、ソケット式の意味があまりありません。またカートリッジ部分の差込に違和感があり、ゴリっとした感触があって端子の耐久度が少し怪しそうです。ですがスタンド部分の端子は普通にM.2 SSDを直挿しできるため、直挿しスタンドとしての利用が可能でした。スターターセットであればカートリッジ部分は2個付けて欲しいです。

ヒートシンクケース付きの、縦挿しM.2ケースです。現在SATA SSDを持ってないので試せませんでしたが、M.2はケースあり・なし両方使えました。USB-A対応ケーブルも付属するのは好印象です。ただし発熱の多いSSDを使う場合は、ケースに入れるか、直接風を当てるかはした方がいいと思います。動作中に不意に抜かないよう注意。M.2の冷却ケースで思うことですが、ヒートシンクケース、SSDをセット時はスライド式でなく、サーマルパッド共に両側から挟み込む仕様がいいなー。この製品に限らない疑問ですが、ケースにスライドさせてセットするのは、吸着力のあるシリコンラバー製のサーマルパッドとは相性悪いです。すんなり入る場合は保護フィルムを剥がしてないか、そもそも接触してないってこともありがち。あとこのケース、予備も販売されて欲しいです。１つだけだと縦置きリムーバブルにした意味があまりないような。ツッコミどころはありますが、価格も手頃なのとNVMeについてはちゃんとGen2速度で使えてますし価格が折り合えば悪くはないと思います。B+M キー対応、SATA対応とあるし常用外付けドライブとしてよりは、M.2 SSDの中身チェック等で縦置きで簡易的に使いたい用途なら結構便利に使えると思います。
