It's junk.... tried to use it on a bearing and the tool snapped. Not worth the money!

Rebuilding a Ford 9â€. This worked great to free the shafts so I could remove the 3rd member, and also included a “hook†to pull the races as well. Even if I never use again, it was well worth the investment, but this product will last for decades! Heavy chrome plating has not chipped or flaked off anywhere, even at tge impact points of the weight/shaft. Nice storage case too.

I rated this slide hammer kit at 5 stars due to the facts that it was as advertised and seems like a quality product for the average user. It did not work for me because the slide hammer was to light to do the job. I was trying to pull the rear wheel bearings on my 2006 f150. Fortunately, I did not damage the bearing trying to remove it and the bearing looked like new, so I could reuse them (was replacing leaking axle seals). Also had to grind-down one of the bearing puller plates to fit the Ford bearing & axle tube.

I have no idea how this tool accumulated 4 stars. This is a cheap cheap cheap design and production. Anchors have no counter nut, so anchors keep slipping out as you try to hammer the bearing out. The sliding hammer itself is way smaller than one thinks, not suitable for anything larger than a bicycle maybe. Threads only go in half way and constantly fear hammer will disconnect from anchor. I ended up renting an Autozone tool to finish the job, and that was a relief. Sturdier, stronger, larger. Can't recommend this at all. Returning it.

Used it once, for what it was purchased for, and it broke first try. I was changing bearings & seals for my rear axle on a 07 Jeep Liberty, the foot that fit the bearing stripped the shaft (now it is unsalable. I made my wife go to Advanced Auto to get a real Powerbuilt Master Axle Puller Tool Set - took me minutes to remove both seal and bearings that have been in there for 200,000 miles. I wish it worked, because now I am stuck with junk. and yes I bought the Powerbuilt Master Axle Puller Tool Set, Remove Car Front and Rear, Bearings and Seals, Vehicle Repair 21 Piece Kit - 648611 on Amazon. worth it.
