This review is for the 120-volt 30-amp (TT-30R) box and receptacle. The box is a rugged steel outlet box, and is every bit as well-made as boxes I looked at that sell for twice the price in the big-box stores. I chose this box because it comes with a knockout on the back side.I feel I should address some of the comments I've seen in other reviews, as well as an issue I encountered myself while installing this box.1) People complain about the knockouts being hard to knock out to the desired diameter. This is due to the box's extra-thick gauge of steel, and any box with walls this thick will have this problem. But that's beside the point. Having installed plenty of electrical boxes in my time, I have decided it's better to take out all of the knockouts anyway, and then use reducing washers to create a hole of the desired diameter. Reducing washers provide a better seal, make a nice flat surface for mounting the cable clamp, and even serve to auto-center the clamp. For this box, I used 1¼" × ¾" reducing washers (two washers are needed; one on the inside and one on the outside). This allowed me to use a ¾" cable clamp, the ideal size for the 8/2 Romex cable that I used in this installation.2) I tested the grounding quality of the box's grounding screw and found that the box's heavy-grade powder coating was applied so well that it prevented the grounding screw from obtaining good contact with the metal box. Thus, I used a Dremel tool to grind away the paint around the contact area to ensure that a good box ground could be attained.3) A previous reviewer has claimed that the box must be installed with metal conduit all the way to the load center in order to assure a "legal" ground (!). This is not at all true. The standard practice is to tie the service ground and the outlet ground to an electrically common point of attachment on the box, as shown in the pictures. This method is not only perfectly safe, it is also to Code (i.e., "legal"). Note that I used a stainless-steel washer to make sure that the bare-copper service-ground wire is in full contact at the attachment point.EDIT: I checked the grip of the terminal on the wire after clamping it down, and the grip is very tight. I've included a picture of the terminal with the hot wire removed, and the screw driven in as far as it can go. The stripped 8-ga. wire is quite a bit larger in diameter than the remaining gap. Then, I re-installed the hot wire and took a second picture, and one can see the amount of threads remaining on the terminal screw after clamping down on the wire as hard as I could. The wire is held very securely.

I bought this to charge my f150 lightning EV until the fast charger is installed. Easy to wire, it's charging the truck as easy as it would be with the fast charger. No complaints on quality.

Very nice piece of hardware and with the enclosed wiring diagram it was a super easy installation. Strongly recommended.

My electrician recommended this item to connect an RV to the main house. It's been there for 9 months now without an issue. Resistant and good quality.

It’s a well made product with the exception of the KO’s . I was not able to knock out the 1/2†, 3/4†or the 1†knock outs without all of them coming out to 1 1/4†. Make sure you have reducing washers just in case .

Replaced my plastic outlet. Works great, but small are for the big wires.

The only issue was the pre-knocked holes, they are not much pre-knocked. Ended up knocking out to the largest size to avoid bending the casing. Everything was pretty solid.

Used this for my EV charger. I installed this with 6-3 TECK. There is very little room behind the outlet for the cables to tuck away. Basically spent an hour to try and get the plate in and in the end I needed a longer screw for assistance to suck it into place. All in all though it was very cheap at $33 so I couldn't ask for a better experience in the price range.

This is well built, and the spot for a wire to hang out while the lid is closed is perfect. The only issue we had was a struggle ounching the smallest hole out on the back. Its not easy to do, and the larger rings began to break as a result. We ended up having to use a file to remove it, which was time consuming.
