  • Use this socket if the head of the bolt on the pulley is exposed, and not covered with a plastic cap
  • If your 1ZZ pulley has a black plastic cap covering the head of the bolt, then it is a Star bolt
  • Needed when replacing the pulley only on stock OEM tensioners, not the full assembly
  • Use with 1/2 in. square or 7/8 in. combination wrench, or socket

This 1/2” socket fit like a glove on my 2006 Corolla’s belt tensioner (1zz engine). Able to easily change just the pulley not the whole assembly. I would imagine this would fit other Toyota pulley bolts which have the splines.
