This creates the correct bubble fitting required for many European cars. It is almost the same process as a double flare. Make a few practice runs using scrap tubing, then you are good to go. I used this to repair the rotten sections of the brake lines on my E39. Zero leaks. I'm back on the road quickly, safely and economically.

Clamp that I received with tool is not the correct size. It is labeled inches but must be metric sizes. I needed to make 37 degree flares so I bought this tool. Used my clamp for 45 degree flares and it worked fine.

This flaring tool works great. You really need to file the end of tubing flat and deburr the inside of the tubing before flaring

This flaring tool isn’t a standout as far as flaring kits go, but it does the job it’s intended to.Ive used this a few times for flaring hard lines for vehicle repairs and it works great. Clamp the line in the appropriate sized guide, attach the flaring jaws, and spin the bolt into the line. Fairly easy process, and if you’re using it one or twice a year, it’s great.Where it loses some points from me is in the small stuff. You can’t really get the jaws on to the block once it’s clamped, meaning you have to clamp with the jaw’s already on the block which is a bit annoying if you’re doing more than a few lines at once. The wing nuts for the block clamps are kind of small, and you really need to crank them down to hold your line in place. This means using another tool to get them all the way tight, or bruise your fingers like I did, lol. The locking bolts with the wing nuts also seemed to have rougher threads which only added to the problem.Again, this tool does exactly what it’s intended to do, flaring line for compression fittings, and I’ll give it 4 stars for that and it’s value. But, if you’re using it often, you may want to go with a higher quality flaring tool.

In addition to all the faults listed in its other one star reviews, this tool has another fault that completely eliminates one's ability to rely on it: one of its clamping fasteners sheared off after only 14 flares were created. That is aboslutely unacceptable for hand tools. But it was much less expensive than similar tools from other sources, so I shouldn't have been too surprised. This tool has clamping bolts/nuts made from similar materials (stainless steel, I believe). Similar materials are undesirable because similar material fasterners tend to gall if tightened quickly or repeatedly. Well, a flaring tool requires fasteners to be tightented repeatedly, right? A machinist tells me that this tendency to gall can be minimized if an anti-sieze lubricant is applied to them. However, the manufacturer's instructions do not indicate that anti-sieze is needed or helpful. Apparently, EVERYONE knows this already?Bottom line: don't buy this tool unless you only need to create one or two flares. Any more than that - it is living on borrowed time.

Had some trouble with some rubber hose connections on a few line for my E34. Needed to get a tool to reflare the end and before sliding on the fuel rated rubber hosing. Went with this kit. Needless to say it worked fantastically. The tool had sufficient clamping pressure to allow the press to form the bubble flare on steel lines. I have no complaints. Will likely be seeing more action as I replace the fuel line over time. Purchase with confidence.

Bought this to make water lines for my twin wastegates, works nice, would have liked a case instead of the tray but that's my only complaint.
