My furnace kept cycling off at random times before room temp reached the set thermostat level. It was subtle bc it didn't turn off immediately after turning on like many other folks reported here but it would run for an hour or more but then will eventually just cycle off. I cleaned the old flame sensor and put it back but that did not do the trick. Did some research and stumbled on this and replaced old one with this. Instant fix to the problem! Furnace now runs as it should and maintains the set temperature without flames turning off and fan just blowing cold air like it did before. So glad I found it. Saved a lot of $$$ compared to a HVAC tech call.

You should have a spare, you don't want to "need" one in January. This worked perfectly on my 1999 Lennox furnace.

I used this on my Carrier furnace and the fit is great. The sensor is a little bit longer than the original, but it does not affect it in any way.

My furnace was starting and stopping over and over. I cleaned the old one with steel-wool and that seemed to help. I opted to get a new one. This flame sensor matches the original on my Carrier Weathermaker 8000

The Flame Sensor is a quick and easy fix. If your furnace kicks on and off, you can clean off the flame sensor with a little high grit sandpaper to see if it fixes your problem. I've gone another season doing this. These replacements are cheap and easy to install. Plenty of videos out there. Click off the power switch to your furnace, pull off your old one, clean it, record the model number to order a replacement then reinstall.

Not much to say. It is a pierce of wire surrounded by ceramic material that is inserted into the flame. I bought it as a spare
