Just bought a Plugable 3900H docking station. I stuggled for 2 weeks trying to buy and install the right Thunderbolt dock, only to find out that my laptop (Pavilion) is not compatible.First, the pre-purchase technical support that I got (from Sam) at Plugable was prompt, thorough, and accurate. He understood what equipment I have and what I was trying to do. Then he recommended the right product, which I ordered and received in 1 day - at a very fair price. The installation instructions and the downloads were clear and doable, even for me. The system now works exactly as I had hoped.

Quickly discovered how impossible it was to utilize two monitors independently on an "older" MacBook Pro. Utilized everything I have hooked up and working with a HP laptop in a variety of different configurations with no luck. Did a bunch of research online both written and videos to discover I wasn't alone in this frustrating situation. Many options out there to get the job done but this was one of the most effective and inexpensive. There are tutorials on product web page if you need them but everything is pretty straightforward and hassle free.

Great dock, very easy to set up, works well with both a desktop PC or a laptop.Dock had a faulty headphone input jack. Costumer service reacted swiftly by sending a brand new dock. Couldn't be happier with product and company.Have been using plugable products for a few years now and am very satisfied with quality and performance. Highly recommend their products!

A universal docking station will never be as good as a manufacturer's docking station for several reasons.That being said, for a universal docking station that will work regardless of brand, it is still pretty handy.This is a solid 4 to 4.5 star product despite the list of minor cons below.Will update below review if any problems arise later.PROS:+ Cost. Brand specific docks can be 2 to 3 times the cost of this dock.+ Slim. It looks like this comes in vertical and horizontal models (I chose horizontal)+ Easy to set up if you're technically savvy in any capacity+ Use with any number of devices in your home at a single station, which is exactly what mine is being used for (Home dual monitor work station which now can have work and home laptops swapped out.)CONS: (these are minor, but could be a major inconvenience depending on your scenario)- Requires driver installation (which isn't listed in the instructions) but is easy enough to locate from their website.- **Oversight: you MUST have administrative rights on the device. Normally this isn't an issue unless, for example, you are issued a laptop for work but must contact your IT department to allow the drivers to be installed locally. I purchased this for my wife who ran into the same issue, and luckily their policy allowed them to install the drivers on her completely locked down machine.- Can't charge laptop through the dock.- Laptop requires independent power, it's one more power cord to have to route and cause clutter.- Can't power on from dock if laptop is shutdown (have to open, power on, shut lid which can cause additional wear and tear)- Because it isn't a manufacturer dock, it takes up a little more room since it's not designed for the device to nestle in/on the dock.- USB to device connector (USB 3.0 and Type C to laptop) is really short and may limit where you can place your dock VS where the port(s) are on your laptop, though you can always buy longer cables to replace the provided ones.- Even with the provided adapters you may still find yourself not able to use one of your monitors without additional adapters (Specifically Display Port). The best monitor solution you could hope for is if both of your monitors have HDMI and DVI options so you can plug directly into the dock without the need for adapters (included or not).

Omg! This works perfectly. I was trying to add a second monitor to my pc and brought many adapters and nothing worked. I googled and was told about a docking station. Hook up was user friendly, fast and without a hitch its works perfectly!!!

Device was working great and then suddenly stopped working. Pluggable was quick to diagnose and resolve the issue. Communicating with customer service was easy, they were friendly, prompt and fixed the problem without any hesitation. Their customer service was wonderful and is the reason I will buy all future devices from them. They have shown that they were a great company who cares about their products and their customers. Device itself is fantastic and does exactly what it is advertised to do. Also super easy set up.

good deal when on sale for $60. the physical stores didnt have what i needed. connects laptop to two monitors via hdmi, now i can multitask on 3 displays. lets see how long itll last me

Todo bien, anteriormente, costaba mucho trabajo usar este aparato cuando queria cerrar la tapa de la mac requerias de aplicaciones externas como anfetamine para que no se apagara pero con la actualización de su software esto ya no es necesario, tengo todas las conexiones y salidas que requiero, tanto para el cable de audio, red, varios usb.Lo que se podrÃa mejorar en este modelo o lo que recomendarÃa vieras, es que no cuenta con Dual Port solo salida HDMI, aunque creo entender que la razón es que como tal no es una salida de video si no más bien es una capturadora de video, por lo que realmente lo que vez es una imagen procesada, lo que explicarÃa el porque de repente se ven saltos o se alenta la imagen en movimientos bruscos como en los juegos o incluso en videos maximizados, esto debes considerarlo porque si tu idea es comprarlo para poder jugar no te va a funcionar bien, aparte tampoco te servirá para ver servicios de streaming, como está capturando video Netflix por ejemplo o Prime Video, lo detecta como si estuvieras grabando y no te deja ver nada, hasta que desconectas el aparato, asà que consideralo, esto es exclusivamente para trabajo o tareas cotidianas.

I picked this up so I could run multiple monitors off of my Asus Vivobook S15 S530FA-DB51. It only has one HDMI, and I also wanted the option to run my work HP EliteBook on the same dual monitor setup. Nice to be able to swap back and forth between both. Especially when one has HDMI and one has DisplayPort.I researched these and it was a toss up between the Plugable UD-3900 and the UD-3900H (horizontal). Both are identical specs, only this one (the UD-3900H) is a better fit for my desk setup.I ordered this, and the whole lot (dock, cables and connectors I ordered) came in the next day. My 2nd 27" monitor came in the following day so I set it all up in a matter of about 20 minutes. SIMPLE to set up and connect, and with Windows 10 I was up and running in no time.I run 2 x ViewSonic VX2757-MHD 27 Inch LED monitors. These are a pretty decent unit for pretty much everything I do, which is everything BUT gaming. No time for that. Both are 1080P and are running full HD connected to this dock. My only regret, this dock has one HDMI and one DVI... I was too cheap to pop for the unit that had 2 x HDMI.The Plugable Dock is connected only by the USB-C connector to my laptop, and it works fantastic. Download the DisplayLink drivers and you are off to the races. So far so good, its a great work from home during the apocalypse setup, and I am far more productive on 2 screens. Oh, and should I get really wild, it will run all 3 (2 x 27" plus the laptop screen). No lag, no nothing.My only gripe, when you unplug the laptop and swap in the other, you need to adjust the screens again for position and so on. I have not found a way yet for it to revert to docked configuration... but then again I haven't looked that hard either.Buy it, you will like it.

Molto più di un hub di collegamento standard, le periferiche che ho collegato vengono riconosciute e funzionano come se le avessi collegate direttamente. Windows lo identifica con driver proprietari e non come molti altri device con driver universali. Amazon precisa e puntuale nel packaging e nella spedizione.

Dans le cadre du travail à domicile ou du télétravail, utiliser un ordinateur de petite taille (15" ou inférieur) devient vite inconfortable, voire pénible, le raccorder à un écran secondaire est une solution, mais utiliser une station d'accueil m'a paru vite plus intéressant : on peut y adjoindre un clavier et une souris USB, un casque et un micro, y connecter un câble réseau Ethernet...J'ai opté pour le modèle UD-3900H pour sa connectivité étendue (en nombre de ports, de câbles et d'adaptateurs fournis). Je l'utilise avec 2 moniteurs 24" (un en HDMI, l'autre via l'adaptateur DVI-> HDMI fourni) en plus de celui des ordinateurs portables (un Dell HP7490 14" ou un Asus N750JV 17").Dans cette configuration, l'affichage sur les moniteurs est limité à du Full-HD, ce qui correspond aux caractéristiques de mes moniteurs.J'utilise également un boitier externe ORICO HDD Docking Station (6619S3) pour des disques 3,5" et 2,5".Rien à signaler jusqu'à présent, très satisfait de mon achat.
